Shocking video shows the moment several New York police officers brutally beat a cyclist who they had been riding slowly during a Black Lives Matter protest in Brooklyn.
Pierce McCaffrey had been participating in a solidarity ride during George Floyd and Black Lives Matters protests along Nassau Street near Gold Street on Sunday at around 7.40pm when the altercation took place.
According to the victim and witnesses who filmed the wild scene, McCaffrey had only been riding slowly in an effort to keep demonstrators free from police aggression.
Footage shows a pack of officers pounce on the cyclist, with one throwing clear punches at McCaffrey's head.
A cameraman - Mike Hassell - can be heard telling McCaffrey not to resist arrest.
'They started tackling me to the ground, punched me, put my hands behind my back, handcuffed me and threw me into the car,' McCaffrey explained to Streetsblog.

I’m of the opinion over the last two weeks, that many people need their a$$es kicked by the police.
If this is horrific, I think they need to get out more.

In classic FR style, I’m not even going to watch the video or go to the horrific DM website - he sounds like a complete jerk and his name is Pierce.

No doubt the cops have video of the whole thing - dash cam and bodycam.
Not to paint with a broad brush but, in my experience Bicyclists as a whole tend to be radical liberals with a Holier Than Thou Attitude.
Many of them resent automobiles and that’s putting it mildly.
This is not speculation on my part. I’ve had to work with many of them since I retired from the US Military. For the most part, they are an insufferable lot.

Ok, there are riots, looting and protests going on at breakneck speed and this ass hat cruises down the car lane in 1st gear and has no intention of moving... I don’t know how they kept themselves from beating him to frickin’ death.

Interfering with law enforcement- which he admits he was intentionally doing- is not a good idea.

Just around 37-38 seconds, when the perp comes into view, he had his hands up, tangling with the cop who later punches him.
Another officer is just tackling the perp at that time, which makes it less clear - but it looks like he was fighting with one of the cops, just before we see the situation.
He deserved much worse. He was trying to obstruct law enforcement from doing their job.
He’s just a liberal pos that needs a good beatdown.
NYPD seems to have figured out that the Antifa thugs use bicycles for recon.
Didn’t look ‘horrific’ to me in the context of the past two weeks.
Oh as someone who worked in Manhattan I can say absolutely.
And I don’t care if the cops beat him like he was an animal with a valuable fur coat.
