He does not apologize, actually; he just says “I should not have been there”. And his reason is that it created a certain perception about the military’s involvement in dealing with the rioters.

Hoping this is just some sort of feint by the Trump team.

Gen. Jack Keene was one Fox today. He explained that a military man is not allowed to participate in anything political while in uniform. He apologized to the President for making the mistake of being there and thus inadvertently providing an opportunity for the press etc. to cause a controversy and criticism.

Thanks, I didn’t see that. My opinion on this follows what you said. Milley is a straight razor military man. All business, no bullschiff. I’m surprised he made it to general, he’s not a perfumed prince as Col. David Hackworth used to call them.
