Attorney General William Barr said U.S. Attorney John Durham’s team has been working “very aggressively” despite the coronavirus pandemic.

“I can't address expectations. I can say that even with the disruption of COVID and the fact that our court system is essentially been shut down for a few months, the Durham team has been working very aggressively to move forward,” Barr said in a segment that aired Tuesday evening. “And as I've also said, this isn't being driven by producing a report. We are trying to get to a point where we can hold accountable anyone who crossed the line and committed a criminal violation. So that's, I think, would be the initial stage of a resolution of Durham's investigation. But I also think that there will be public disclosure and some form of report at the appropriate time.”

The attorney general said that “the other area of concern” was the post-2016 election decision by the Justice Department and FBI to go “right back at it” and continue pursuing Trump-Russia collusion even as he said investigators had concluded that “there's nothing here” on retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn and as Steele’s dossier “was falling apart.”

Why did it take about 15 minutes to arrest, arraign, prosecute, and (in some cases) sentence Flynn, Manafort, Stone, Papadopoulos, and Carter Page, yet it is taking years to take ANY action (publically anyway) against the coup d’é·tat planners going back 5 years now?
Huber was a way for Alfred E Sessions NOT to appoint a Special Council
to investigate the Coup Plotters. Huber did nothing. And wasn’t expected
to do anything when Sessions appointed him.
His only purpose was to take the pressure off Sessions.
Sure Barr sure. Chances of indictments coming anytime soon are the same chances of seeing you on a Nutrasystem commercial.

I’ll repeat my remarks from another thread, along with the observation that, if one were an operative for the Deep State, interested in discouraging the development of effective opposition to the Deep State, one of the strategies one might employ would be to constantly intone the drumbeat of defeatism and the hopelessness of opposing the Deep State among people who might be so inclined. I implore those who find themselves in the Counsellors of Despair and Giveuppedness camp to spend some of their (probably significant) mental ability on figuring out how we can help shape the world we live in, instead of criticizing those who try.
“And now the cascade of “Nevergonnahappenaholics”, tumbling out like the contents of Fibber McGee’s closet, or spewing like pea soup from Linda Blair’s possessed gullet. It’s really tiring.
The forces protecting the evil bastards who have been running this country into the ground are very formidable. It’s going to take a hell of a lot of guts to overcome it. A little encouragement wouldn’t hurt. The cost of failing to overcome it is, simply, everything. Absolutely everything. I wish just a couple of people around here would stop putting all their energy into cynicism, in the mistaken belief that lowered expectations will insulate them from disappointment. Put some of that energy into working to make a difference. Easy? You bet your life it isn’t easy. That’s why we need some help to get this done, not a crowd of people standing around on the sidelines, saying “he’ll never do that. It’ll never happen.” Find a way to help. Make a way to help. If we don’t get this job done, this country and everything it stands for is over.
