Little Britain has been removed from Netflix, BBC iPlayer and BritBox amid concerns that the use of blackface characters on the series is no longer acceptable.
In an apparent reaction to the Black Lives Matter protests, Netflix pulled the Matt Lucas, 46, and David Walliams, 48, series on Friday, along with the pair’s other comedy Come Fly With Me.
Then yesterday the BBC and BritBox both confirmed they had also decided to remove Little Britain saying “times have changed” since the show first aired.
The shows include scenes where the comedians portray characters from different ethnic backgrounds with the use of makeup.
Similarly, Bo’ Selecta, which impersonated black stars such as Craig David, Trisha Goddard and Michael Jackson has been removed from All 4 after creator Leigh Francis recently issued a tearful apology. It is, however, still available on Prime Video. …

At times, I’ve wondered about the local PBS station dusting off the tapes of Till Death Us Do Part as an alternative to the trash they keep on showing (particularly the fundraisers). I guess we can forget that title as well during these particular times, lol.

Can’t believe Little Britain wasn’t under siege much earlier— the “least convincing transvestite” and “only gay in the village” characters were hilarious but no more offensive than the other British stereotypes the show was made up of.
Was trying to find a Harry Enfeld sketch where a white trash English couple is on the outs because the woman wants a brown baby like all the other white mums that live in her public housing area. It’s been long scrubbed from the internet. Hit to close to reality, I guess.
I loved the Harry Enfield skits with the Polish shop.
He nailed the Poles perfectly.
Well, the same goes for the Marx Brothers, Robert Downey, Jr., and John Wayne (”The Spoilers”).
