HAPPENING NOW: Police are responding to what appears to be an ATM explosion, in Brewerytown. I heard a loud bang, and the flames shortly followed
Police say a 24-year-old man tried using an explosive device to blow up the ATM by Sidekicks Sports Bar, but when the device went off, he was thrown to the ground with serious injuries. He was rushed to a nearby hospital and died.
Police say the explosive device never penetrated the ATM’s safe. Live explosives were recovered at the scene.
Councilman Kenyatta Johnson surveyed the damage left behind after two ATMs were dismantled.

This reminds me of a goof who tried to steal an ATM machine.
He chained his bumper to the ATM and tried to pull it out of the wall. The bumper with the license plate on it pulled off instead. So the guy drove off and went home.
The cops ran the plate, drove over to his house and found the pickup missing a bumper.
