In advance, I apologize for the Vanity Post - but I did want to take a minute to gauge Freeper opinion on recent developments. This thread is a bit long but please read it.
We've had the COVID-19 scare for quite some time now. It has had a negative effect on this nation, economically and socially.
Combine that with the recent rioting in many US metro areas (including mine - which has thankfully died down for now) and my question is this...
How do these things bode for President Trump and the GOP in November?
Do the American people rise up and say enough is enough? We need a strong leader to bring this nation back?
In the suburbs, do the soccer moms clutch their pearls and believe all will be well if they vote Dem or they suddenly realize that the rioting could take place in their neighborhoods or that they might have to cut back on soccer camp for little Brianna and little Jason because their husband is out of work?
Do blacks and Hispanics in the inner city suddenly realize that their Dem leaders have more or less tossed them over the side and decide to vote GOP - maybe not in overwhelming numbers but at a better rate than before?
Given the 24/7 media drumbeat has been "Trump Bad, GOP bad, white privilege bad", has the damage been done and we'll soon embark on a sustained period of Dem dominance nationwide?
I'd like your opinions.
Speaking only for myself...Americans (true Americans) do not like being told what to do, what to think or how to vote. They see what this “drumbeat” you speak of has fomented. The Dems and their ilk will see a reckoning in November. Their party of Stupid may not survive.
For now Biden is being handled very carefully and very scripted. At some point, he’s going to have to be on his own and allowed to do his thing. At that point, he’ll implode with so much incoherent nonsense that no one will know what he’s talking about...shocking, I know. I wonder what’s going to happen when he loses it one day and asks the President to take it outside or challenges him to a fistfight.
It all lies with the Hispanics.
I saw some very unhappy hombres boarding up their shops in NYC on Spanish language news.
Anyone see that pathetic propaganda piece ABC news aired last night? I don’t how a any rational thinking person could watch that and not see the motive of the media. But therein lies the rub, so many are no longer rational.
Even GW Bush has gone off the rails.
As far as November, I still believe Trump can prevail. But November is a long way away. Be prepared for the next salvo coming our way.
I’d like to think that Americans have reached the point of being fed up with the constant drumbeat of media hysteria about everything under the sun, and especially the rioting, looting, and arson, that they would turn in recrod breaking numbers to Trump as a protest against the left. But, I really don’t know. In 2008 I thought for sure the American people weren’t stupid enough to elect 0bama, but I was dead wrong. In 2012 I again thought that Americans would not be stupid enough to reelect him, but was wrong again. Right now I fear for the future of the couontry, and fear the possibility that Americans will willingly vote to destroy it.
People quickly forget and move on to the next issue/topic/scandal/crisis-via-news-media.
If, by October, the economy is zooming and the ‘issues’ are relatively quiet, the election will go along and Trump will be reelected.
Of course, the Dems will continue to try to sabotage the Trump campaign at every turn. A big concern will be Biden’s selection of a VP, as that person would likely take over the Oval Office, if Biden did happen to win.
Greatest third quarter economic improvement in the history of our country, huge rallies that include Trump going to Minnesota, California (that will be in play), and maybe even New York...
Trump will win in a landslide.
I also predict that there will be a serious attempt on his life, maybe from someone close to him, and he will live.
As Rush always says, the ONLY thing that will separate President Trump from his voters is President Trump, himself. Try as they might, Deep State and the Enemy Media are always outed in the end as the America-Hating Commies that they are.
I think he’s performed admirably. I think the country will continue to be divided, but I still think he’ll win.
I, and many others, will crawl over broken glass to vote for President Trump, again. The primaries were a good example. People didn’t even NEED to vote for President Trump, yet they went out and did so - in the middle of a manufactured PlanDemic, no less! 15 MILLION+ of us!

In five months we'll be in the beginnings of a civil war no matter the election outcome. The left is "All in" and they can't fold.
When I taught school and stood for what was right, almost no one would defend me. In jobs, people are doing evil stuff and the one trying to right gets the beat down. If you folks aren't going to defend those in the right, then nothing is going to get fixed. Live with the mess you allowed to happen. Talk to the hand.
Too early to tell. Lots of water to go under the bridge before
the election is held. My guess is things will be getting back
to some sense of normality by Nov. If not and riots, etc continue
then who knows what the outcome will be.
My greatest concern is handling voter/election fraud coming from the left...
My concern is that some of the soft Trump voters will decide they are tired of the chaos and come to believe if we just get rid the lightening rod the trouble will end. You don’t need too many of those in PA, MI and WI to change the results of 2016.
Their lying, cheating and stealing operation will be in full force. Expect massive voter fraud on their part. That is the only way they can win.
The media is on their side. Note how they are sympathetic to the looters. They will be even more sympathetic to the vote fraudsters. "They only stole a few votes to express their pent-up anger, but compared to the racism of the Right, it was nothing."
Despite what he is up against, I think Trump will still win, but it's going to be an uphill battle fighting against the evil forces combined against him.
Are you in Minneapolis, Steve? Please stay safe.
The Left is absolutely going to have to be dealt with.
We really cannot proceed with a very large group of people whose intent is to burn the country to the ground and build “Utopia” from the ashes.
Utopia is synonym for Hell.
I saw a long line of folks outside a gun shop on Long Island. NY already! Methinks a lot of New Yorkers changed their politics as well as their vote.
We'll find out in about five months.
I hope and pray that you are right, except about a serious attempt on his life.
But that would not surprise me at all.
Riots and property destruction will prevent the economy from improving. Coronavirus will spread because of mass congregations of looters, prompting governors to forbid nonviolent protests, Trump rallies, and honorable business. Businesses will fold due to enforced closures and property destruction. People will starve, unable to collect government benefits due to street riots, massive fraud redirecting their welfare to unknown accounts, and closure of government buildings; bureaucrats still get paid. Starvation crisis deepens as government forbids private charities. People lose housing due to evictions and torchings; utilities disappear due to vandalism and nonpayment. State and local governments hike taxes. Police and national guard cannot quell violence, and president either gravely injured or in hiding; no one knows. Many Trump officials, including Cabinet members and White House staff, incarcerated or prosecuted. Several more major orchestrated crises and deep-state coups Democrat operatives take hold of ballots and return them on behalf of voters, whose conscious choices don’t matter. Biden triumphs, then dead or disabled of coronavirus or dementia. Deep state or Democrat operatives take over American unimpeded. Green new deal passes Congress. Communism forever.
The economy will improve. Thugs and Dems cannot stop that train.
