During the First Democrat-Republican War William Matthew Merrick was removed by dissolving his court underneath him. It was then reformed without him!

Interesting story, but since it took an act of Congress we know that won't be employed in the case of Judge Emmet Sullivan. Unless of course, we retake the House and retain the Senate. But then the wimpy Republicans probably wouldn't do it anyway. But it was a creative way to remove him from the D.C. federal court and replace him with loyal judge. 8>)
