Youre going to find this very strange, but Im more of an anti-mask person, Laura Howard told me last week, recounting the success of her business selling Trump 2020 masks on an Etsy store called isewformygrandkids. The 63-year-old grandmother of eight, a retired Walmart assistant manager from Stanton, Michigan, grumbles about Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmers strict stay-at-home guidelines. She invited her kids and grandkids over on Mother's Day, telling them masks and social distancing were optional.
But most retail stores around her require customers to wear masks. And so, since the start of the crisis, Howard had been sewing masks and giving them to friends, relatives and hospital workers. When Etsy, an online marketplace for handmade products, put out a call for masks in early April to meet growing demand, Howard complied. She turned her own boutique on the website, filled at the time with suncatchers and boho-chic clothing, into a mask operation, and poured her political sentiments into the project. She sourced red fabric from a woman in Amish country who had stayed open during the shutdown, used a desktop cutting machine to create iron-on vinyl patches, and set a price of $12 apiece, with free shipping. So far, Howard has sold 1,400 Trump masks; at one point, to meet demand, she was working 18-hour days and enlisted her daughter and two grandchildren to help with production. Shes tried out some other designs, including one that says RECALL WHITMER, but the Trump mask is by far her best seller, and the customer feedback is glowing. A lot of them have said that theyre anti-mask, they don't really want to wear a mask, Howard told me.

Can you make one for me that says Make America Brave Again?
I doubt there is a market for that.
Fine. I’ll make it myself. Thanks for nothing.
Sorry, my reply was dripping with /s. I don’t have anything to do with this stuff, just posted the article.
You know. Like Joe Biden.
Good for Grandma. Glad she’s staying busy, helping people out, and spreading the word. I sewed a couple dozen masks for family and a few friends. They aren’t political except for my own wavy flag mask and stars on a blue field for my retired Coast Guard pal. Using leftover fabrics, I came up with stuff like fishing themes for the men and ladybugs or flowers for the gals. In our household, we try to avoid wearing them at all, but the Big Bad Wolf still has us in ‘red’ shutdown. The groceries have ‘bouncers’ at the doors and many of our fellow citizens are still terrified. We know people who haven’t left their homes in over 2 months - and they’re young. Sad sheep.
I want one with my tagline on it!!!
Spread tehse around and liberals will want to ban masks.
