Never saw that rice before. At first it looks like bugs. But it sounds delicious.
Thanks for the ping.
Not quite a wok, but the wife and I made Char Sui today.
Here is one recipe

I made mini corn dog muffins for the holiday. Super simple and addictive. Much cheaper than store bought.
1/2 C melted butter 1/3 C sugar 1 egg 1 C buttermilk (I used some very watered down canned evaporated milk) 1 C corn meal 1 C self rising flour (add leveling if using AP flour) pinch salt 1.5 packages of franks cut into 5ths Mix the batter. Cut the franks into 5 pieces each. Spray mini muffin tins. Pour in one T batter to each muffin. Put one piece of meat into each. 375 oven for 10 minutes. Makes about 60 mini muffins.
First go into the nearest inner city where's there a protest going on and a supermarket that's not touched yet.
When the supermarket gets looted, grab 2 pounds of beef (since it will be free, get grade A), 2 pounds of green, red, orange and yellow peppers, a pound of onions, salt, pepper and a bottle of wine (if supermarket has a wine department, if not find a looted liquor store and grab a bottle of the best wine they have left.
Be sure to wear a mask, not for Covid-19, but to keep from being identified... 😋

I've used a wok in the past but NOT the expensive "real" ones that need seasoning like a good cast iron skillet. I imagine it takes a gas stove or burner that can put out very high temperatures. A few days ago I made chicken pad thai in the Instant Pot and it was SO good - even better the next day.
I think that black rice might do very well in an Instant Pot. I made the mistake of making a chicken and rice dish in mine and should have used plain white rice instead of basmati as it turned out mushy. Live and learn.

I am debating (or going ‘round & around is more like it) with getting an Instant Pot type appliance. My niece was moving & temporarily didn’t have room for hers, so I had it a couple of months & got to try it out. I liked it, but didn’t use it that often & decided not to get one.
What has changed .... I want/need to make bone broth and pressure cooking speeds up the process and gets ‘hot’ enough to soften the bones. Slow cookers (what I’ve been using) doesn’t get hot enough to soften the bones. The only other method that will is long hours simmering on the stove & I cannot leave the stove on that long - wouldn’t be comfortable leaving a pot on the stove overnight.
Just curious if anyone has a favorite pot or any comments. I’ve been on Amazon reading comments on various pots - it’s the usual: love, love, love or didn’t last very long, disappointed, etc. I’ll be looking for an 8 quart so I can make large batches of bone broth. I need it and my elderly mom needs it as well.
The only other issue is getting good bones - my grassfed farm supplier hasn’t had product in some weeks. Their butcher had issues .... supposedly they’ve got meat being processed & I expected them to have it at the farm store this weekend, but they posted that there have been “delays”. Daggone it .... Due to the shortage of various meats, my niece is raising “meat” chickens (25) that are chunking up nicely ... I’ve asked for the chicken feet (lots of collagen) to add to bone broth. Also, she has two calves as of 4 weeks ago - they’ll be processed next summer some time & I’ll hopefully be able to buy some product from her. Calves will be grassfed from start to finish.
