Up, Up and Away! World's largest all-electric aircraft takes to the skies for the first time making a 30-minute flight over Washington State
A single test pilot flew the all-electric aircraft over Moses Lake in Washington
MagniX have added their 750-watt electric motor to a Cessna Grand Caravan
It can seat up to nine people and required few changes to make it all electric
They hope to have a 100-mile range commercial version on sale in 2021

Does not even have range for MWH (Moses Lake) to SEA. That said, I would like to take the short trip to MWH to see it operate.
I imagine the Li packs stay plenty warm while in operation.
“Temperatures at 35,000 feet above sea level are routinely -50F...even in summer.Batteries dont perform well at 0F let alone -50.”
hmmm. Calculate the power loss for your standard aircraft piston engine operating at 35k!
hope you dont get any head wind.
How dare you bring reality to hope.
Do they love them because they bought them.
Meaning they are stuck with them.
Or do they really love them.

100 miles - how did they get an extension cord that long ??
It is called the Solar Wind. Here’s a link:

This aircraft is huge. It makes the Cessna Grand Caravan mentioned in the article literally look like a toy. Circumnavigated the globe in stages 2015 to 2016 using only solar power.
Despite having occurred only 4 years ago, the Dailt Mail appears blissfully ignorant of the accomplishment.
In 1903, the Wright brothers flew 200 feet. Sixty years later we had this:
“So when you spec aircraft, you spec in absolute limits.”
No, you spec in conditional limits.
Was just thinking that. With the right battery you could make a pig fly.
Laser Power Transmission.
Attention passengers. Please lower your laser shield window shades while we recharge our batteries. Do not look outside while we are recharging. I repeat, DO NOT LOOK OUTSIDE!
Put a nuclear power pack in it....can it carry 1 beer fro LA to SF for $10k or so...awesome...Bring me another...
Ok, but that still doesnt account for FAA flight restrictions.
You informed me that the FAA does not in fact require any sort of backup power for a craft with a 100 mile battery range. I’ll take your word on that.
Archangel-12.
Most amazing technological leap ever!
Oops!
Experimental range 100 miles
Expected commercial range 100 miles
Does it come with a ‘World’s longest power extension cord’ and backup batteries.. made for quick mid-air swap?
and most importantly, personal and plane parachutes?
..and a $1M insurance policy.
That’s one heluva long extension cord.
