However, it appears that airlines have suddenly bought into the model of more point-to-point long distance flying. That will definitely benefit the Boeing 787-8, 787-9 and eventually a higher-weight 787-10 model.

I haven’t read anything about Airbus laying off any of their US employees. Of course, the Air Force could have had the superior, proven Airbus tankers instead of the trouble plagued ones from Boeing, but Democrat politics got in the way.
