It was MyLife that broke me. After spending hours studying FAQ pages, sending terse emails and making occasional phone calls in an earnest-if-naive attempt to take back some control of my personal information online, I had my first demoralizing moment. MyLife pulls together vast amounts of public data to create background reports and "reputation scores" on millions of people in the US, all available to those willing to pay for a monthly membership. On it, I found a sometimes inaccurate but eerie amount of personal information about, well, my life: my birthday and home city; my previous job title (though curiously not my current one); a list of people "Seth maintains relationships with," including the names of both my parents, each linked to their own profile pages with still more data. All there in one place waiting to be discovered. When I called the site, a customer service representative stressed that the information doesn't come from MyLife, but rather from across the "interwebs." Following some back and forth, the representative agreed to delete my profile page. I felt victorious -- until two hours later when I received the first of many promotional emails from the company, one encouraging me to sign up for a membership, another talking about raising my credit score.

This is why I’ve never used my real name on the internet.
I don’t give a rat’s behind if my information is all out there. Because I do not need better credit score, and no one pays my bills except myself, so why should I worry about others?
I have nothing to hide. So I don’t care.

It’s creepy. And annoying.
In France they call it
“Le droit a L’oubli” or The Right to be forgotten.
The right to have negative private info removed from internet searches and other directories.
The law has been worked on since 2010, and is still not fully settled in Europe.
this is my real name
LOL.
It is impossible to delete any of your data form the internet. Once it is out there, it is saved somewhere else besides the obvious places you find it and delete it from. the data has been sold and stolen over and over again. It is like trying to delete your date from somebody else’s Cloud. Good luck with that.
I just accept that privacy is dead, and that all my data is out there somewhere, and I am being tracked 24/7 in real time, my TV is listening to me at home, all my communication is being stored. Welcome to the modern police/surveillance state. The good thing is, I am just one of 350 million people they have to watch out for, so it is sort of the old bear joke where you don’t have to outrun the bear, just your jogging partner. With 350 million people to track, I just have to make sure to keep a lower profile than 50 million other people so they don’t have a reason to bother with me.
I am sure all of my personal data, financial date, medical dates, shopping data, spending data, travel data, food consumption and everything has all been tracked, sold, and stolen many times over. There is no putting that genii back in the bottle. You can bolt the barn doors, but the horses have been gone for decades now.

What they call a subscription fee is a protection shakedown fee and a way for them to sell information about you to other people.
The only way you can get some of these sites to suppress or delete some information is to pay them. That is a shakedown racket and illegal.
And these sites have fraudulent information. Listing marriages that never happen and arrests that never happened.
The point is, once you are a threat to their power, that's when they'll start looking at everything you've done. As long as you aren't perceived as a threat, they'll leave you alone.
These scum sites buy your info from the driver’s license and financial groups.
They have your billing addresses for utilities etc.
You don’t have to use your name on the internet to be in their database they’ve bought and sold from/to similar companies.
“I have nothing to hide. So I dont care.”
If the Democrats ever take power again, they WILL use this information against you in any way possible, including the worst atrocities once present in Soviet Russia and Nazi Germany. And judging from the Democrat sycophants who have permanent Herd Stupidity, they will gladly cheer in place.
Yep, and it doesn’t take much. For being on Free Republic, I am sure I am on “Militia” and “Domestic Terrorist” lists from the Obama years. Not for anything close to an actual basis — just for posting here. I’m sure.
Yup. Once you’ve released the info it’s available. My old rule is if you don’t want someone to read something, NEVER write it down. If you don’t want someone to see a picture, NEVER take it. Keep it on the downlow below the radar as much as possible. Go to a rally with your AR strapped on? Uh, NO! Should be obvious but..................
You don’t have to. They pull in federal, state and county records, credit bureau records and other records.
Some sites won’t remove without a court order (and many courts won’t grant such an order)
Identity theft happens because of the data these companies sell (or even give away).
Sometimes you will be asked to provide past living addresses (or pick the name of a street your lived on before) to prove your identity with some firm. These people already have that data.
Some sites use such questions for security (remind you of a lost password) again everything from make and models of cars you’ve owned to mother’s maiden name are compiled for scammers.
Recall Marxist Waters said that Obama was building a huge database on every voter in America.
And the Socialist Networking sites like Fakebook have said that they are building up a social media score for everyone just like we have a credit score.
Just look what they did to Kavanaugh, and they made that s___ up.
But imagine when they can pull up every Google search and Web Site you ever visited and put it out for the whole world to see.
Just a pack of lone wolves we are. LOL!
