I live in a mask-optional state and have opted not to wear one. So far, the worst I have encountered are stern looks.

I am thinking of getting this shirt.

This whole thing reminds me of when they taught us to “duck and cover” in the event of nuclear war, or global warming/cooling, or when they said LSD would alter your chromosomes and you’d have mutant babies.

Really? From what I’ve read, it’s the liberals and busybodies shaming the non-mask wearers.

I would never personally give someone that isn’t bothering me grief for wearing a mask. Would I laugh it up with other non-mask wearers in a private group? Heck yeah. But usually only about the mask wearers that are wearing their mask wrong or in a silly way. Now, if a mask wearing person came up to me and gave me crap about me not wearing one...Katy-bar-the-door...they’ll get a verbal thrashing from me. At that point, I don’t consider them an innocent.

- Texas is much more civil and quiet. -

For the most part anyway. There's a Karen in our area that has inundated NextDoor with her screeds complaining about people that don't wear masks. Got so bad that the moderators told her to knock it off.

Far left, second circle in from the bottom.

That one doesn’t even make ‘gay’ cross my mind. And she has her back to all the guys who don’t have the courtesy to wear a shirt in public (and not at the beach).

I was at a Sprouts market the other day. The woman at the deli counter wasn’t a native English speaker, so I would normally struggle to understand her, even when she wasn’t wearing a mask. I told her I wanted some of the “Honey roasted turkey.”

Apparently she didn’t hear “turkey” and responded “Can or Sushi?” in a very muffled voice.

I said “What?”

She replied “Can or Sushi?” again in a very muffled behind-the-mask voice.

I said I’m sorry, did you say “Can or Sushi?”

She lowered her mask and, with very careful diction, asked me “Do you want Ham or Turkey?”

They had both Honey Roasted Ham and Honey Roasted Turkey.

#1 Yes you must follow the arrow. If you pass the item you want you must go around : )

I have been scolded 3 times myself. I now order from the stores and they use Instacart. 1 hour after I ordered they delivered.

Yep. I bought some tires for my wife’s car last week. The young man had the mask on. I told him that unless he dropped the mask, I couldn’t understand a thing he said. He dropped the mask and it was all ok. And we didn’t die. Go figure.

“This mask shit is really bothering my daughter, who’s deaf. Try lip reading when everyone’s mouths are covered up. I am so tired of all of this mass hysteria.”

Her ADA lawsuit could be the key to everything! (My daughter is deaf too.)

The craziest thing about masks is that people (my BiL for example) will panic over strangers not wearing them, but shake hands and gab from a foot away with friends they see out and about.

It’s like they think knowing the person gives them immunity.
