Flubros and Flubras! Day 60 (a place for Flubros and Flubras)

It’s just the flu, bro.

Worldometer showing big drops in deaths since the mid April peak.

Governor Abbott is making an announcement today about further opening up of Texas. I know it won’t be enough and I hope the lawsuits mount so that things are accelerated. Best of luck to those in Michigan and California and other Dem states - your situation with respect to being able to exercise constitutional rights seems worse. Are there any Republican governors who are stricter than the Democrat governors? Is this turning into a divide with Trump and red state governors on one side and Fauci and Dem governors on the other? If so I think many more than Elon Musk will have a “red pill” moment(he tweeted it). The libertarians like him should be Republican leaning for the foreseeable future.

Words fail me.

That's a good start. Less words and more action, if you're so inclined.

Never been a true lock down here in NC.

Yes, the state smashed the little people - but I’ve made my same daily trips around town, visiting the same places, doing the same things since this all started.

About the only thing I can’t do is sit down to eat somewhere (but they are open for take out) and get a hair cut.

62% of deaths are in rest homes and other congregate living facilities.

We are not NY, NJ, Mass or Penn.

I think this Corona-sickness is often psychosomatic. But that’s very rare with influenza.

I can’t eat in a restaurant, go to my favorite fabric store or go to church. I can get a haircut if i wear a mask and wait i. the car til the customer before me leaves. And with the one at a time policy appointments are weeks out. This needs to end now

How does one resist government oppression that has closed down your job? Go to your workplace and force the doors open?

“Now don’t screw it up by acting like assholes.”

Too late. We acted like assholes treating the flue like it’s the Black Plague. 90,000 dead. And that paltry number is the fake political number.

My life hasn’t changed much at all, as far as yours, I don’t care if it has, or hasn’t. It isn’t my business how you choose to live.

If businesses allow government to force them to go out of business, that's their choice, not yours. They don't owe you a job.

So then no resistance in that case I guess. You’re a peach! Just full of solutions. Or something else.

Using "number of cases" or number of deaths as the sole metrics by which to measure is a bit misleading, but it is useful in getting everyone properly 'afraid'.

Unless the number of new cases is overwhelming the medical system, our re-opening should be considered a success. We were told from the start of this fiasco, that the objective was to "flatten the curve" and to keep the hospitals from being overwhelmed. A noble goal that has been achieved and has now morphed into: "We need to stay shut down until there are no new infections or deaths", which is an impossible standard as it will only delay the inevitable infections.

The objective of curve flattening is to simply stretch out the number of cases across a longer time line. I applaud the leadership of the states and towns that have re-opened.

Feel free to complain to your boss, and if he doesn't do as you ask go find a new job or start a business. Better yet, move out of California. I left NYC years ago and I never looked back.

Dr. Cyril Wecht, famed doctor, coroner and crusty old politician, made a shocking admission (especially for a Democrat) to the Pittsburgh news media:

“If this were not an election year Pennsylvania would be open right now.”

"Governor Abbott is making an announcement today about further opening up of Texas."

Good morning! I'm looking forward to Gov Abbott announcing more openings in the great state of Texas and the liberal mayors to start howling anew. Some of them (including the Austin mayor) think they can make up "mandates" contrary to the Governor's directives. The Austin mayor (and his sidekick judge) have already been bitch slapped a few times by Gov Abbott. Today should be no different.

“90,978 TOTAL DEAD”

Please break down that figure in to two categories: (1) ACTUAL WuFlu deaths, and (2) deaths not due to WuFlu, but chalked up to WuFlu to pump up the numbers.

DO IT!

“Who’s stopping you from doing what you want?”

That would’ve been a good question for our Founding Fathers who sacrificed almost everything to create a free country for EVERYONE. A large percentage of them were wealthy, and they could’ve skated along, enjoying their bubbles. Thank Heaven they didn’t do that.

Yeah. You are a real patriot. Who will speak for you once everyone else is controlled. I guess you just don’t get it. It is abundantly clear in your posts that you are not a freedom loving and principled American.

In TN, we eat IN a restaurant a couple times a week (yea!), and have been attending church for a month (yea! again). Huge churches can’t open until they figure out a way to distance, e.g., multiple services. Ours is small, so everyone fits. Still no haircut for me, but gotta do it soon.

I’ve spent the time organizing my many quilt tops by connecting them with batting and backing. Will hand quilt one or two of them after hip surgery in June. Some elderly in church, and some family, do wear masks, so I’ve used some of my stash to make several masks for them. Am DONE with the masks!
