Just an entertainment TV show.
Is that show still on ?
The real “treasure” is the proceeds from the TV show. It’s making big money for all concerned.
There is plenty of evidence of human subsurface construction.
Since nothing (treasure-wise) has ever been found (that we know of), the question is “Why?” all the efforts to make it appear that something of value was buried?
Or, as I call it, The Cursed Who Watch Oak Island...
I never watch any of those treasure searching shows.
You know in advance they aren’t going to find anything. If they did it would be in the news.
Can ya dig it? How the heck all them timbers and such appeared magically. You, nothing to see here. Move along. Besides the treasure already has been found and is being used to fund the Trump campaign. That and for ratings.
And more over, any money or treasure these violent louts would have gotten hold would have been blown immediately on booze and women in the nearest port?
This is a drawn-out version of Al Capone’s vault. Sorry I wasted my time on several episodes.
I remember reading about the Oak Island “treasure” sixty four years ago.
So those massive hand-hewn oak timbers with Roman numerals carved in them being brought up for 80-120 feet are naturally occurring also? Isn’t nature amazing!
Those shows are almost as bad as the ghost searching shows. Ends up nowhere. Dull and a one hour show that was 56 minutes too long
I like that show.
Did it ever occur to these morons that a bunch of 18th. century sea faring criminals weren’t going to have the tools and technology to dig all the way down to China on what amounts to a floating swamp
Many of the ‘pirates’ were not criminals, but licensed privaters. You have been watching too many Hollywood pirate epics. Did you now that one of the most prosperous cities of the time in the New World was run by those you label pirates? It would still be standing today as a leading city had it not been wiped out by an earthquake and tsunami.
At least OI is not rife with violence and perversion and the actors are somewhat likeable. Of course there is no reality in the show, but beats a House Hunter marathon on HGTV.
I do as well. If for no other reason than to hear the occasional “HOLY SHAMOLIE!!”. I get a kick out of that!
I too read of this story many years ago. It is interesting but there is one great question which I can’t answer.
Why would you bury treasure in a place where it could not be retrieved?
When I was a kid there were stories of treasure in the Choctawhatchee River. It was always lost and sunk into the depths right when they thought they had it.
The one which really do interest me it the discovery of Spanish treasure ships which really do exist. It is reported tho that the Spanish recovered most of it themselves.
I like it too. They have dug up an incredible amount of history going back to the 1400’s.
The various levels of advanced technologies used to study the finds is very educational.
The advancement of excavation equipment has evolved during this program.
I suspect a lot of the people denigrating the program didn’t care for science or history classes either.
I admit I fast forward through parts I find boring or non-essential (no relation to government defined essential)
