Maybe it’s been that long that it was written up in Reader’s Digest. We had a stack of them at the family cabin/shack. On rainy days they were my go-to entertainment. Of course as a young boy I was enthralled with the story about Oak Island.
Just like the guy on the show that is exploring it fell in love with it after reading the article as a boy.

I was thinking that myself. What I remember is reading about Oak Island in Reader’s Digest back in the mid 1960s. Two Colonial era boys finding a tree with a rope tied to one of the limbs, and beneath it the depression in the ground. Then the wooden platform 10 feet below the surface, etc.
remember the beele code? that could bring some big money on YT tV. I could make that happen. throw in some bigfoot hunters and pan gold. could crack that code with todays super computer models. who are hot. they need special fans and cooling devices.
