squirrel: “I’ve always relied on the kindness of strangers”
‘’I’ve always relied on the kindness of nuts.”
The second day we moved into our first house (still there!) my wife was on the porch with a bag of groceries and looking at the squirrel in the yard.
Thinking “Oh how cute!”
The squirrel took three hops towards her.
“Oh, this is so neat!”
Then it tore over and ran up her body and she dropped the groceries and flung the squirrel off.
Found out later that the previous owner would let the squirrels sit on her shoulder and she would feed them peanuts!

Looking for a family-friendly way of dropping “I’ve always relied on the nuts of strangers,” but alas, not finding one.
