As the coronavirus death toll ticks up and some states ease their restrictions, a new study suggests that men might be more likely to leave their face coverings at home.
Men in the U.S. report less intention than women to wear face coverings, especially in counties that don’t mandate wearing them, according to a paper authored by researchers from Middlesex University London in the U.K. and the Mathematical Science Research Institute in Berkeley, Calif. This, the authors say, suggests that making face coverings mandatory “has a larger effect on men than on women.”

I am a senior and I refuse to wear the damn mask, I was forced at Costco to get in the store I feel like all of our citizens look like they are living in China running around in masks!! It is a reminder of FEAR!!

I think women are used to the concept of masks because we wear makeup, and there is a stigma if you don’t comply. Men haven’t had that going on so it will be a harder sell. There is also the problem of too many girly looking masks though too. I’ve gotten requests for flannel plaid and pretty much anything without kittens or unicorns, which is certainly understandable.

Smart and Final also told me I had to wear one HOWEVER I don’t need to shop at Smart and Final so I left!! I buy my meat at Costco OR I would have left there also!! Walmart does not require masks so I go there early AM so I don’t have to deal with the screaming babies ect.
My theory as well. Women usually thrive on emotions and feelings in many cases. Just today I looked at a few of the CV article from a local news outlet on FB.
Most of the women were all “OMG, it’s so sad and horrible XXX people tested positive today and YY died. It’s too early to open, cases keep rising. We should wait another month.” Any attempt to show while, yes we had new cases, the number have been much lower and we can’t hide inside until no one has it. Of curse the response was, OMG your men you don’t care about people dying! Your so mean and heartless.
Karens. Almost every woman I see on trails and see out in the middle of nowhere are wearing masks or put one on quickly when they see me

I see plenty of men wearing masks, even alone in their cars driving.
However people are mobbing the parks and not wearing masks, not social distancing either. Some are smooching.
I live in a state where masks are required unless you have a medical reason. One chain grocer requires them and has someone at the door, another chain just has a sign posted and leave it at that.
I tried a bandana so i could go in the grocery store. I almost fainted from panic. I cant do it.
Last week I saw a Karen wearing a mask, goggles and gloves while hiking. It was mid week and a cloudy day so very few people out.
You make me laugh so hard sometimes. I miss New Yorker talk. “I’d glue a mask to my face” lol
I think I had this crap in January. Had a dry cough, felt blah. Didn’t drink a beer for two weeks and that’s a wonder right there. Luckily I’m healthy and OD on zinc everyday.
I guess there were no markets to watch today. Instead, this vapid social message.
Nor I. And it could possibly be that not all men have bought into all the super hyped up hysteria over wearing face coverings.
