There has been story upon story of people dying from coronavirus when in fact they died of other causes. I have heard of three such stories this week alone, two in the Bronx and one in Queens. The one I heard from a client just an hour ago was the most egregious. The clients father was 88 years old and in a nursing home suffering from the terrible effects of Alzheimers. He also had diabetes and was a cancer survivor. Last December he stopped eating many foods he previously enjoyed as his condition was deteriorating. About a month ago he died in his sleep- the cause being cardiac arrest. Yet despite the doctor telling my client her dad had died of cardiac arrest, the cause of death was listed as suspected COVID-19. The doctors claimed he had developed a fever just days before he passed- their sole suspicion he died of the Chinese flu. My client protested as not only did she disagree the cause of death was coronavirus but now alternate plans would have to be made for his funeral. She is a legal Hispanic immigrant who, while understanding the passing of her dad was best to end his suffering, is more furious at the deception and lies listed as his cause of death.
Wow. I am very sorry.
It’s not right.
I hope for your husband’s aunt and others that he pays some kind of price.
I’d like to see it done in this world.
Thank you. Our only consolation is that perhaps now she is reunited with her parents and siblings. She was the last one. Most of them lived to their early to mid 90s with one exception, who was a heavy smoker. I know my husbands aunt is not the only one, by any means, who succumbed as a direct result of Cuomos return-them-to-their-care-facility executive order. Like you, it would be nice to see Cuomo pay a price in this world.
