An archaeology show without Dr. Zahi Hawass? Impossible.

:^) Last time I saw him ****ing up stuff was the muography done at the Great Pyramid -- the non-invasive scans that revealed the second set of large voids, right where Jean-Pierre Houdin had predicted.

Reminds me of the book, The Egyptian, by Mika Waltari.
I read it many years ago and remember little of it but I seem to remember the main character hid in the funeral home among the dead for a while.
Was not a fav book of mine but it was recommended to me by my father and grandfather, and was evidently very accurate. I wonder what new things they will discover and how it will compare.

I wonder if/how they will work Global Warming into their narrative. They used to do some wonderful articles, but I stopped subscribing to NG because the magazine is a non stop shill for environmental whackos.

The first gilded silver mummy mask in Egypt since 1939 Well I just hadda see THIS! Not as fantastic as I hoped for but still, something to see. A face from the past, illuminated for us in silver. https://www.realmofhistory.com/2018/07/16/mummy-silver-gilded-mask-saqqara-egypt/

I went to the gorgeousTutankhamen exhibit in London in March - and they were selling Hawass hats in the gift shop!

Not sure, but have a friend that works in antiquities in Cairo. He has shown drawings using electric eels in tanks as batteries.

“He has shown drawings using electric eels in tanks as batteries.”
There is an electric catfish, as well as an electric fish called a torpedo. Electric eels are South America.

Ancient Egyptian director: Well, I suppose you could go with the wood sarcophagus, but dont you think your father would be worth the cost of the stone model with gold trim?
