Total deaths reported in NYS was actually 207 based on what was reported by Cuomo.

Daily cases (not deaths) today (they end the day at 9pm ET) also looks like lowest since March.

I believe Cuomo reports around noon and it's for the previous day. So I think the 207 count would be for Saturday.

“Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) was first discovered in Asia in February 2003. The outbreak lasted approximately six months as the disease spread to more than two dozen countries in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia before it was stopped in July 2003. See below a timeline of CDC’s key activities conducted during the outbreak and beyond.”

Have a look at Italy — we were always “2 weeks behind Italy” in the ramp up — we should be two weeks behind in the ramp down. Additionally our peak day was Back in late April (39,000 cases or so), we have not been above 30,000 in quite some time, so it appears that the counters take the weekend off...
But each subsequent peak Is less in quantity than the previous week. Overall the trend is down

Dont you find it interesting that they took OFF the 7 day rolling average — it showed a downward turn...

Yep, but it’s patently obvious to the naked eye anyway.

The flux is also a big glaring sign that the reporting is screwy and gamed to try and fight the obviousness of the decline.

And no-one is concerned with a second wave?

Yes, I’m concerned. Concerned that we’re about to be subjected to another pant-load of fear-mongering bulls**t, fake news, bogus death tolls, and governmental malfeasance and tyranny.

How about a 3rd, 4th and 5th wave? How many waves should we shelter in place and wait to pass?

And how many of these are actually Covid 19 deaths. According to even Dr. Birx, probably at least 25 % are inflated. So it’s more likely 565 deaths from Covid 19

Total dead crossed to 80k, more than the 79k dead in the 2017-2018 flu season, which was the worst ever (average flu season kills 39k in a year).

watch the numbers jump Monday to Wed as they find more regular COPD, pneumonia deaths to re-code as Covid 19. Medicare pays 20% more for Covid-19 so I guess it is not unexpected

79k is on the high edge of the preliminary numbers for that flu season. It’s more likely closer to about 60k (which is still extraordinarily high for a flu season). We should have finalized numbers within the next few months.

The internal White House estimates are for around 135k deaths from COVID-19, so if that holds, we’ll have to see this slowing trend continue to stop at that number.

I think most people familiar with this are worried about the potential for a second wave. The second wave for Spanish Flu in 1918 was far worse than the first one. However, there’s literally nothing we can do about that right now. Either this thing will get better or it will get worse. Best we can do is figure out how best to get our economy running again without swamping ICUs with COVID-19 patients based on what we know today. Many hospitals are nearly empty right now. No reason those areas can’t get things moving again. Areas like NYC and LA will have different priorities as they’re getting slammed with this thing.

I think one day does not make a trend. we need to wait for another week to see the trend.

135K is a lot

Imagine that! A steady decline in the number of deaths...even without Bill Gates’ magic vaccine.

Or we have a better idea how to treat it.

It’s too soon to see results of stay home and opening up.

it went up again yesterday. But again we can’t really identify if there is a trend down or up or just stable. Need to wait another 10 days
