While it's not that long of a song, it's melody plays over and over and over ...
As such, my wife and I have a running joke that if we go into a restaurant when Kashmir is playing in the car, it will still be playing when we leave the restaurant. Not factually true, but it's our story and we're sticking with it.

Definitely one of my favorites-I keep the Mothership CD in my truck to play to and from work...

There are better Zeppelin songs (’Out On The Tiles’ just came to mind), but ‘Kashmir’ is great. Immediately takes me back to being a kid, wearing that vinyl out.

So the great Kash is too blastit hot, but known for poetry. I think I’ll pass.

I think it’s tied with “Since I’ve Been Loving You”

“Kashmir” Live from their 2007 concert at the O2 in London is fantastic! I have seen Led Zeppelin live numerous times in the 1970’s, and “Kashmir” live is one their very best live performances.
The studio version is weak compared to the power of the live performance, imo. Of all the bootleg and official live recordings of “Kashmir”, the O2 version is the most powerful and best sounding live version out there.
I recommend you listen with some good headphones on.

I’m curious about the title. The lyrics don’t seem to have anything to do with Kashmir.

The first rock concert I ever attended was Peter & Gordon in Manila in 1966.
The second concert was
Led Zepplin at the Fillmore West in 1969...still the best concert I ever attended.
Incidently, the worst concert was Eric Clapton in Mobile, Alabama sometime in the mid-70's....he was so strung out he couldn't play or finish the concert.

Something that can be a fun time killer is going on Youtube and watching people listen to Led Zep for the first time.

Meh, it’s okay, but it’s no Desperado. Or even Velvet Fog.

Not to quarrel, but Bonzo also got writing credit. And rightly so...his "less is more" playing on this track made it.
Personally, I believe Achilles Last Stand is their best.
