—The “hero” has been looking around the neighborhood apparently scouting houses to rob
—The neighborhood watch folks had been on the lookout for the guy because of this

If somebody writes an article about "Top Three Reasons Why" they better have three of them ... and label them ... and they better actually be reasons. I couldn't find any reasons clearly laid out and labeled in the article ... or any reasons at all.

It's just that some of the people promoting the jogger narrative lied about other things. Well, that's what happens. People with agendas promote stories that promote their agenda and they lie. But it doesn't mean the narrative is wrong in this case. Even a blind squirrel stumbles on a nut sometimes.
