How would know it hasnt been edited. Too many examples in recent years of video that looks one way but turns out to be something else. You dont find it odd that video just now turning up?...
*****************************************************
With a near certainty it had been in the possession of law enforcement. You do understand that it is exonerating to the father and son?

The police record says they said " stop stop , we want to talk to you", nothing about a citizens arrest. After the fact, citizens arrest might come up, but the quotes were talk to him even though they felt he was possibly armed and a threat.
Granted, he could be a thief. That didn't seem to be the proper way to deal with the situation. Especially, if the father had so much leo experience and they had video evidence of the man committing crimes. One would think they would have turned over such info to the police to better help the community at large.

I am not sure it does. That is a question for jury to determine.

And if the person pointing the shotgun tells you you're suspected of burglary, put your hands up, you're under citizens arrest, you're going to do what?
I'm going to continue to assume he's a criminal with bad intentions and react accordingly. Any criminal can claim all kinds of things to try to prevent a strong defense. Vigilantes trying to play cop need to be very, very careful that they don't shoot the people they try to detain, or they will be put in trial for murder, as these two idiots will be.

I’m trying to remember the last time I saw a headline “Black father and son arrested for murdering white jogger”.
I just can’t remember seeing any such headline.

The police record says they said " stop stop , we want to talk to you", nothing about a citizens arrest. The police record don't mean squat. And even if they did pull up and say "stop, we want to talk to you", and said nothing else, would you then run about 20' feet right at an armed person and attempt to disarm them? I don't think so.
No matter how ya chop it up, these are not the actions of an normal innocent person out for a jog.

Vigilantes trying to play cop need to be very, very careful that they don't shoot the people they try to detain That's not what happened. There was no detaining, the decedent ran to the man with the gun and attempted to physically disarm him.

The drivers had already tried to cut off the jogger twice before. Dunno what they proper response would be. People panic all the time. What is the sop for a citizens arrest, would they follow him across town if he was driving, or riding a bike? Attacking someones firearm at close distance isn’t always wise, nor unreasonable if one thinks they are being threatened.

That's all fine and good, but I'm referring to the actual shooting event. It was clear the descendant ran right at the person with the gun and attempted to physically disarm him.
Do you think that's the normal response for someone out for an innocent jog? I don't think so.

And some men recognize the odds are against them when a loaded shotgun is pointed their way and back up and try to talk their way out of it. They use the Jim Rockford approach instead of trying to be Chuck Norris.
To: dragnet2
The driver exited the vehicle with a shotgun to engage the runner on the passenger side. Is it in the wrong to confront the driver and defend oneself? Is that not the entire point of stand your ground? The man in the truck bed had a .357, the jogger made a choice to engage the driver and lost.

You were lied to. He attacked the guy holding the gun.
To: E. Pluribus Unum
Hmmm you sure about that?
Did brown get shot in the hand because he was trying to take another man’s gun?
To: shoedog
Welp. You’re wrong. He’s on surveillance footage trespassing and prowling. The reason he’s running is because he just got busted trespassing on someone’s property.
To: stuck_in_new_orleans
Personal attack means you lost the debate. You’re wrong. Go home.
To: Mr Rogers
Really? The fact they just busted him tresspassing isn’t just cause?
