Accumulating spring snow can really bust up some trees, though. I recall 13 in April up in Highlands NC and it looked like an ice storm had come through.
And it’s devastating to crops and orchards.
They are calling for snow up here in NH Saturday morning. And “on and off” during the day Saturday.
My wife is dying to get our vegetables in the garden. Looks like we’ll be waiting till the first week in June.
May see some flakes on Long Island early Saturday morning... haven’t seen May snow here since the early 1970’s....
Here in South Jersey the blueberries are in full blossom. We get a freeze it will be pretty bad economically for the farmers.
Honestly. The inability of people being able to deal with nature being what it is is frightening.
Expecting just light snow mixed with rain in mid-coast Maine. Thank God for ocean moderation. Believe it or not you get sick of seeing the white stuff after 5 months of it, although we had it easy this year.

Too late, they’re everywhere. My old boss from NYC once told me ‘I’ve always felt I was a Southerner’.
A few years ago there was an anti-global
warming march in Amherst MA.Took place
in March...during a snowstorm.
And it will still be reported as the second hottest May in recorded history.

If the Weather Channel didn’t give it a name they’re slipping up. Polar Vortex Bob or Polar Vortex Alberto, that’s the channel I know and love.
