LANSING, MI. (WILX) A group of armed individuals stood in front of the Capitol building Wednesday afternoon to make a statement.
They told News 10 they are trying to change the narrative, escorting lawmakers like State Representative Sarah Anthony, (D) Lansing, inside of the Capitol.
"We're here because we watched our state representatives who've been elected and elevated to the level to make laws for us feel intimidated by the crowds who were out here, the white supremacy that was out here. So we figured we wanted to do something about that to make them feel safe," said Michael Lynn Jr.
Lynn Jr. also added that the group, who were all African American Lansing citizens, wanted to show a different perspective of what open carry looked like.

Crisis Actor.
One of America’s fastest growing occupations.
Just behind Non-Attorney Spokesperson.
I rather thought that was the purpose of the Second Amendment, to make lawmakers and government feel intimidated. It was certainly the understanding of the founders and the framers who were well aware of the need to intimidate the British crown and for the people to have the wherewithal to do it.
It seems to me a perfect marriage of the first and 2nd amendments to freely associate underarms to intimidate the government. That's precisely what those amendments are there for.
The purpose of the armed counter protesters is clearly less noble and less constitutional, although also constitutionally protected, they are not there to intimidate the government but to enable it by intimidating the people.
Another reason to keep buying weapons and ammo, folks. It is not just government thugs we will have to confront. The same people who vote for those thugs are thugs themselves.

That guy’s not a real thug, he’s a crisis actor poser.
First clue: Typical American gun owners who have not been to Crisis Actor School would not use the phrase “change the narrative”.
WTF?!
Of course. As a teacher, I have had the chance to get into discussions about the founding of America, the Founding Fathers, the drawing up of the Constitution. I will ask them what was going on in the Colonies at the time that lead to upheaval and ultimate revolt. They can cite things like taxation without representation, quartering of troops. I ask them if they had heard about folks being rounded up for voicing their displeasure over the king’s governance, unlawful imprisonments, or people having their guns confiscated, etc. No. No. No. I next turn to the Constitution and ask them what is the First Amendment all about? What is the Second Amendment all about. They can pretty much cite what these state (usually get a limited treatment of “freedom of speech” and “you can own guns”. Then I ask them, Have you ever wondered what it says about the Founders and what they thought was important that these are first and second in the catalog of rights/protections that these once-shackled now freed folks came up with, what they were most concerned about.
They sit for a moment and then I’ll start to see little light bulbs going on. I look around the room, hopeful that some of them have just turned an important corner.
And not a shot fired or life lost...As soon as it’s safe to go outside again, the fearless Democrat protesters want to show Michigan and the rest of America that they can do that too.
Yep, “change the narrative” it’s the talk of those who Astro-turf.
It’s how media geeks talk to other media geeks.
Will it get even a nanoseconds attention from the lamestream media? I gonna say that’s a big fat NO!
perhaps i am just being picky.... I have hunted for over 40 years, served in the military, and never once have I stuck the barrel of my rifle in the ground and leaned on the butt of the stock.... just sayin.
If you are looking at photo 1, his rifle is on a sling, barrel tip is 2 feet above the ground. (Uncropped photo is in article).
We went to a rally last weekend in Maryland. A US Congressman spoke.
He talked about the other part of the First Amendment. Redress a grievance to the government.
The first rally meetup location was blocked by the police. They tried to prevent a US Government official from being able to hear grievances of the citizens.
There was a backup location that we congregated at.
Several people got tickets on the way to the rally. He told them to call his office and he’d go to court with them since they were at the rally to redress a grievance with the Government.
Posting without reading the article is an FR tradition...LOL
I use that phrase.
Narrative is the battleground that we are fighting on and it is good if our team recognizes this; their team sure does.
I just want to commend you for your efforts in exercising your constitutional rights at a time when so many of us are sensing (and very clearly) the threat to those rights. You and your fellow protesters are an example for us all. And whoever that Congressman is, he needs to be “outed” - a man of courage, upholding his oath, siding with his people. These are the leaders we need.
I wonder if the brothers in the hood will call these government stooges uncle Tom sellouts? They are supporting the oppressor. I never seen such backwards people. They must want a piece of Halfwits ass.
