From the man they used to call "the round mound of sound!" The man could blow a trumpet like it was noboby's business.

Autumn Leaves is a good one too.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the link.

Al Hirt ... a reminder of the days when musicians actually made music and entertainers were actually entertaining.

I always like: A Taste of Honey

My parents had that album, Whipped Cream & Other Delights, and it was one of the few they liked that I liked as well. 8>)

Here is the entire album:

There were so many great,*great* instrumentals from the 50s and 60s. I'd hear them with my parents on the car radio and at home.

Yeah she is good, as were the other kids, not sure I can say the same about the sax player though. Sounded like he missed a few notes here & there. 8>)

Yeah I liked MacArthur Park

Whenever I hear a reference to the song, or hear it played, it reminds me of college band days. We all hated the song, but our band leader insisted on playing it at every game. We finally decided that it was on the radio the first time he had sex, and it was a fond memory for him.

I still hate it to this day for that reason.

Now, Chuck Mangione's "Bellavia", that's a different story. A modern day version of "Bolero", if you saw the movie!

Thanks for that link. I am frustrated trumpet player. My heroes were Maynard Ferguson, Herb Alpert and Arturo Sandoval .
