Councillors from the city of Basel, as well as representatives from the National Council, have spoken out against the Federal Council for its refusal to put in place laws that would restrict “gay conversion therapy”.
Despite gay conversion therapy being heavily criticized by advocacy groups and outlawed in some parts of the world, the LGBTIQ Pink Cross Switzerland organization says that it is “common” in Switzerland.
The Federal Council has however stated that it opposes a ban, arguing that the current laws are sufficient to protect people from all types of alternate therapies.
Lucas Ott, a representative in the City of Basel, told the BZ Basel newspaper that banning conversion therapy would send an important message throughout the country. “A ban would push the authorities to investigate certain cases and would make possible sanctions that do not exist today.”

Homosexuals and transexuals have a history of depression combined with suicide, drug addiction, sex addiction, and physical abuse towards self and others.
Even those who get sex ‘change’ surgery often find that the ‘change’ didn’t make them happy or ‘gay’.
No, because then they can avail of hormones to bring their sex drive back. And one cannot stop them from abusing the “exit hole” if they so choose.
Correct. Claiming a link on a false basis is a red herring fallacy.
Which means, of course, is that they are really afraid of it. If it really does not work, its failure should become known and the treatment would die a natural death.

Banning people from trying to help the mentally ill is like a ban on trying to help people inflicted with cancer.
Mentally instituted Kate Millett, radical dyke and founder of NOW said that there was no such thing as crazy. It was just a way society handled certain ideas or ways of thinking.
