New Meme of the Left: Compare Covid-19 Deaths With Vietnam War Deaths
Self | 05-04-2020 | Captain Peter Blood

Well the new meme from the Left is compare the Deaths from Covid-19 to deaths in war, specifically the Vietnam War.

That started I think at a Q&A at a Virus Press Conference last week when a reporter asked that question.

First of all it's illogical to compare the two. War deaths have no relation to deaths by disease. War can be avoidable, getting a virus isn't.

I would hazard to guess that disease and pestilence have killed more people than wars through out history. Witness the Bubonic Plague that killed an estimated 200 Million of the world's known population in the middle ages.

It is amazing to see the Left somehow bring back the specter of the Vietnam War to the dialogue of this virus we are dealing with.

Should we compare the Flu Death of 1957 and 1968 with the deaths in W.W. II or even the Spanish Flu of 1918?

This new talking point on the Vietnam War is being used to go after Trump in way for his non-service in that war. At least that is my opinion.

I read David Halberstam’s book. “The Best and the Brightest” on the war and I don’t think I ever saw a concrete reason for the war.

More were killed in 4 years of Obamas watch than GWB, then came Trump and he is extracting us. I hate these people.

It was fear of communism, which came from JFK.
LBJ effed it all up.

Vietnam is seen as a screwed up affair....the Left is attempting to link Trump’s handling of the chinavirus as badly as we handled Vietnam.

I’d say the fear of Communism went back further than JFK.

They have tried to make this “Trump’s Hurricane Katrina.” That didn’t stick so now they are trying to make it “Trump’s VietNam.” I doubt this will stick either. Reason? The target audience is already convinced Trump is awful, so their demagoguery will not effect any change in the rest of us who see tbhrough this swill and disregard it..

I respond that the Hong Kong flu (1968) killed more than the war.

The concept only flies because the media pushes it.

As I see our situation, President Trump told the governors — this a problem that should be handled at the state level. Do your best and let me know if you need help.

A bunch of Democrat governors have handled it very poorly. And so the media is linking “Trump’s handling” of the virus to how badly Kennedy and LBJ handled Vietnam.

So … I suppose … vote for … Biden??

It was containment of communism which began as a foreign policy in 1948 following the “long telegram.”

Yes but JFK got us involved, hell we are still at it with Cuba, despite Obama trying to forfeit the fight.
