The jacksonville outbreak was caused by a narcissist who didn’t believe he could be infected. And behaved accordingly. With no consideration of anyone else.

You are still comparing 1920 to 2020 and the comparison doesn’t fit. This hasn’t been the same country since 1960.
And yet somehow, Jacksonville survived.
As did all the *other* cities under cordon sanitaire over the years.

Narcissist spreaders didn’t go away. Just look at the infection rates on LI from Manhattanites taking it there.
It looks like Sweden has a population of 10%+ that’s essentially constituently immune or very lightly symptomatic.
The death rate/infection rate there can’t readily be applied to any other country that doesn’t have that particular immune mutation.
It’s one reason none of the models accurately predicted infections/deaths for European countries in general, Scandanavian/Eastern European countries in particular.
And yet, pathogens remain the same.
And so do health policies that work.
Masks aren’t perfect. But reducing your initial viral load with one may be the difference between feeling bad for a cpl weeks or ending up in the hospital for a cpl weeks and a million dollar bill you’ll never pay off.
Tell that to the influenza sufferers.
You can choose to cede your rights to the overbearing powers that be I do not.
When this country get back to following law instead of relying on emotion it will be a much better country.
As far as the masks. The Surgeon General has already said that healthy people should not wear them.
