WASHINGTON - Anxious for an economic recovery, President Donald Trump prepared to field Americans' questions about decisions by some states to allow nonessential businesses to reopen while other states are on virtual lockdown due to the coronavirus.
After more than a month of being cooped up at the White House, Trump was returning from a weekend at the Camp David presidential retreat in Maryland and planned to participate in a “virtual” town hall, hosted Sunday night by Fox News Channel, from inside the Lincoln Memorial.
“Hopefully our Country will soon mend,” Trump tweeted. Federal guidelines that encouraged people to stay at home and practice social distancing expired late last week.

Trump has made it clear that he wants the country reopened.
“I like the states opening. They will be opening,” the president said Friday as he left the White House for Camp David. “They’re going to open safely and quickly, I hope, because we have to get our country back.”

But please, enough with the Lincoln worship.
How about spreading it around. He never mentions George Washington, James Madison, or Thomas Jefferson. Why ?

It’s kind of simple. Because he wants more black voters and Lincoln freed the slaves.
Lincoln wanted to ship all blacks back to Africa, or to Central America, after the war.
Lincoln also said that he felt blacks were inferior to whites.
But, of course, those facts are not in our common-core, NEA history books.
There are a lot of great books about THE REAL LINCOLN. If only folks would read them.
Whatever Lincoln really thought is irrelevant. He did free the slaves and that’s about all anyone remembers about him. Thus, Trump praising Lincoln will get him more black voters - which I’m all in favor of, since I’m in favor of ANYTHING that will keep the Democrats out of office.
