Part falls off from B-52 during New Orleans flyover salute

The Air Force confirms to WWL-TV that a part of one of the B-52s participating in the America Strong flyover today fell off the Stratofortress while over New Orleans, crashing to the ground.

No one was hurt, and the air-worthiness of the plane was not affected as it flew on to do its Baton Rouge flyover, and then returned to base.

The Air Force says the part, an access hatch, landed on private property.

My doc told me that 2 glasses of a nice Red per day is good for my ticker, so that’s how I roll! On occasion, I do like to sip a nice glass of Crown Royal Reserve, though.

Yeh, for sure. I’m reminded of a corny joke that perhaps applies to the BUFF. While touring through the Smithsonian a boy stopped to observe George Washington’s hatchet. The boy asked the tour guide, “is that the hatchet George Washington used to chop down the cherry tree?” The tour guide responded, “sure is, however it’s had three new handles and two new heads since.” I said it was corny😊...
