The threshold for herd immunity goes up as R0 goes up. Some say the range for herd immunity is as low as 29% and as high as 74%. But the notion that a virus won’t fizzle out until herd immunity develops isn’t controversial. The controversial part is that these scientists/activists say that we should use “mitigation” techniques for up to 2 years while herd immunity develops.
Isn’t that sneaky what the scientists did? - the expert/scientist talks intelligently about one thing (herd immunity) then he magically extends his expertise to public policy advocating for a certain position (extended lockdowns and restrictions on business). This is exactly what global warming scientists do. They will research something and say, for example, that the ppm of CO2 has gone up a certain percentage, therefore, everyone who drives an SUV should be castrated so that we have fewer people on the planet emitting CO2.

Afternoon traffic yesterday (3 pm to 4pm) was the heaviest since the BS.
At 6 pm ish, we went to place with several restaurants to pick up an order. No one/customers were wearing masks while waiting to pickup their order.
Many people were eating in their vehicles after picking up their dinners. Some were walking towards the downtown area and eating while walking or carrying their dinners.
Walkers were everywhere, we saw 2 people with masks.
Newscum has many cities ready to spit on his B$, and LA county is saying gfys.
Our counties along the Oregon border are doing what they did before Newscum’s B$.
Many of the quote non essentials to Newscum in Contra Costra county are openingly doing business. Some of the owners and their staff are wearing masks or have them if a customer wants a mask.
Many so called non essentials will be opening for business this weekend and big time on Monday. I plan on having my hair sheared this coming week.
Here in Washoe County (Reno/Sparks, NV) there have been 30 deaths, the first one on March 29th.
The population of this county is about 472,000.
All the deaths are all briefly acknowledged from KOLO-TV website per the Washoe County Health Dept. They are cumulative from March 6th, see and count for yourself.

Of the 30 death cases 25 of them had "underlying health/medical conditions" or comorbidities.
The remaining 5 victim's status was that of "being investigated," no further information except their ages were listed in their decade of age, exactly one each: 50's, 70's, 80's, 90's and one in the 100's.
So the chances of all 30 of them dying from the CV no matter the circumstances are about .0064% in this population.
The chances that the 5 who are being 'investigated' (4 of the 5 are elderly) assuming they are perfectly healthy would mean that the CV murdered directly about .0010% of the population of this county.
Or said another way, about 1 chance in a 1000 of 1% that this virus would make one a causality.
If you are a real skeptic and assume the 5 victims "being investigated" did have some other medical issue not diagnosed or untreated prior to their hospitalization, home or nursing home, by extrapolation the virus did not solely kill anybody in this county that did not have "underlying health/medical conditions" so your chances of dying as a healthy person would be 0% or close to it.
And no doubt there are dozens of other counties out there just like this one.
