I am a high risk individual on the front lines treating people with covid and have been since it started. No bunker necessaryq. This is not my first rodeo I have been through other epidemics and pandemics

you fearbros are in denial. mitigation and lockdown do nothing. This thing has been circulating here since at least January long before any if the current charade started. It has peaked and is declining. fl From a healthcare perspective it has been no worse than H1N1 and we did none of this at that time. It is time to stop the economic and social suicide and open up the country.

I agree. Open up gradually, and let this thing slow-burn its way into eventual nothingness.

Between 8,330 and 17,160 people died [between April 2009 and January 16, 2010] from H1N1, with a middle range of about 12,000, the CDC said. But between 880 and 1,800 children died, up to 13,000 adults under the age of 65 and only 1,000 to 2,000 elderly. (reuters)

I’d say that H1N1 was not as infective or as deadly, with a far slower spread, with far fewer complications extending ICU bed hours and with fewer mortalities per week than CCPVirus.
10 months: 17K deaths or 1.7K deaths/mo
2 months: 66K deaths or 33K deaths/mo

Well, as I said, kudos to you, if true. But your insouciance is appalling, in an alleged HC worker, especially.

“you fearbros are in denial. mitigation and lockdown do nothing. This thing has been circulating here since at least January long before any if the current charade started. You like to project your fear onto those of us that grasp the threat of this virus, but it is simply that - projection.

All those things you say about the virus - that it has peaked, that it is no worse than H1N1 you can say because of the mitigation efforts. It was predicted you would say those things. However, you are factually incorrect. It may have peaked in NYC, but it is ramping up in many places that didn’t see the lesson of NYC or had large Easter gatherings, etc. And, factually, it is already worse than H1N1 by a factor of 5 and H1N1 had 15 months to do its damage, this is still only a few months in. In the first month of H1N1 after the first US death, 10-15 people died in the US. In the first month after the first US death from CCP-19, 3400 people died in the US. H1N1 is NOT worse by any rational measure. We pegged the H1N1 meter quite a while back. We’re now on the H3N2 (2017 flu, along with H1N1) meter and closing in on its maximum fast. Next we’ll have to jump to the Spanish Flu meter and there you FluBros will get some relief - we won’t hit those numbers, thank God (if I am wrong about that I’ll have bigger things to worry about than your ignorance). At the pace we’re going we will have surpassed every other flu but the Spanish Flu within 10 days. With mitigation.

As for the value of mitigation, saying over and over that it didn’t make a difference contrary to the facts on the ground, is simply stupid. Compare Korea and Italy. Aggressive contact tracing and mass testing in Korea with social distancing and lockdowns when deemed necessary, versus ‘Hug a Chinaman’, no social distancing and no lockdown until it was far too late, then massive and total lockdowns in Italy. Which one worked better? I’ll give you a hint: the one where the HCS didn’t collapse and the death rate (regardless of the official statistic for CCP-19 deaths) didn’t jump to 10 to 16 times normal.

Mitigation works, in the sense that it slows the inevitable spread of the virus while we develop and deploy countermeasures. You CCP agents that want to let it loose to do its damage all at once are actively trying to destroy our HCS and the economy with it. I much prefer to keep our HCS as functional as possible and have the economy limp along until we are ready to take on the virus and its sponsors.
