Over 500 Americans have lost their jobs for every one death blamed on this new flu. A record 30 million Americans have had to file for unemployment due to the lock down. Should we do this every flu season fearful one?

In excess of an average of the normal number of total deaths, plotted weekly, over the past 5 years. That’s the gray line.

Meningitis, is very contagious.

My 2nd child Byan was born with Cytomegalic Inclusion Disease, and this is in the Contagious Hand book. He lived 33 days, and all I could do was look at him through a window with chicken wire in it. Couldn’t even get a nurse to take a photo. Didn’t get to hold him till he passed away. After I was gowned up.

What accounts for the difference the past 2 months, all over the world?

Shelter in place?

Flu-bro, spend a little time here. You can see the data broken down by nations, cities and regions.

(But you probably won’t. Flu-bros are challenged by facts, and prefer to stay in their “It’s just the flu!” delusion bubble. That’s why they even post threads on FR just for flu-bros, where nobody will challenge their delusions with facts.)

1. I have NEVER supported any form of lockdown or shutdown.

2. "Every flu season." This year is not "every flu season," flu-bro. Example: The last-worst pandemic was the 1968 Hong Kong flu. 100,000 American died in a full year. 60,000 Americans have died during this pandemic in 6 weeks.

This is from the UK, but it compares this pandemic to past flu seasons.

Sweden is not doing shelter in place, and they have 3X the fatality rate of their neighboring countries.

Flu-bro, you are suffering from a serious paranoid delusion, sort of a reverse Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Nope. I plead innocent. I was just making fun of the crazy ideas that float around FR and are accepted as gospel.

The UK just put out its week 17 graph.

Don't worry, "it's just the flu."

These are deaths from all causes, comparing 2020 to the past 5 years.

Post your data then, flu-bro.

What you are doing is what a child does who can’t answer a question: covering your ears, shutting your eyes, and stamping your feet.

A bratty toddler yelling “I hate spinach!” is about the same level of thinking as what the flu-bros bring to the discussion.

Pleas explain the brand new UK graph above.

What is causing the spike in deaths from all causes? Asteroids? Tsunamis? Roving wolf pack attacks? What?

(And for the record, I have never supported any form of shut down or lock down.)

Sooner or later the Covid19 virus is going to find you. You can’t hide from it forever. It will either kill you or you’ll get over it. You can’t hide from it forever. Some day you are going to have to leave your bunker and then the virus will find you.

Boo!

My wife and I live in the Eastern part of King County Washington the first place in the US to have fatalities. We both have worked and volunteered at the ill fated Life Care Center in Kirkland. She is a retired nurse and department head. I spent 25 years transporting sick people in respiratory distress to the hospital in the back of rescue units. I was one of the first on this forum to say that this was more than a hoax and took the heat.

I have seen this first hand. So take your “flubro” nonsense and shove it where the sun don't shine. You are not making reasoned arguments, you are sharing meaningless spiked, cherry picked nonsense designed to scare the public. Fan out and look at more diverse sources for your material, or better yet get a life.

That's sort of like asking why the number of gifts received on December 25th is in excess of the average number of gifts received on the 25th day of the 11 other months of the year.

What is your plan?

Just stay locked in your basement forever?

You point out the problem with apparent glee, but you don’t have a solution. Nobody does. The disease is with us. There is no vaccine. There is no “cure”.

What do you suggest we do. Let our country die and let the tyrants rule over us as we happily surrender or liberty for some vacant hope of safety.

I don’t know why you spam every thread with your fear mongering. It doesn’t help. Unless you can find a way to defeat this plague without losing our liberty, then you are contributing to the problem rather than helping.

What’s your point?

You obsess and wring your hands every day, spouting figures that you seem to accept without question.

It’s increasingly apparent that covid-19 death numbers are being inflated, certainly in the US and other countries as well.

Post all the charts you want, myself and many others don’t trust a word or a number on them.

Somewhere upthread you asked someone something to the effect of whether this was all a conspiracy to fool another poster.

It is a conspiracy (that’s become obvious), and it’s not fooling me, but it’s fooling you.

“But don’t deny the reality of the spikes in deaths (mostly in urban areas) that have occurred. It just makes you look stupid.”

I haven’t. I’ve frequently pointed out NYC has a unique problem (with a significant part probably rooted in poor sanitation) and that nursing homes are high risk and need serious attention paid to protect the elderly and frail.

My biggest objection is to the one size fits all approach. We’ve seen that in $1200 stimulus checks to everyone regardless of their job status. Masks for everyone even if a given area is seeing no problem.

I don’t know if my friend died from a plain heart attack or a coronavirus aided heart attack. No one will ever know. But a lot of places are NOT seeing lots of deaths and are not likely to, just because of how we live our lives daily regardless.

It isn’t “just the flu”. It also isn’t a death ray killing everyone it touches. It is genuinely worth putting serious attention and $$$$ into protecting the people in nursing homes...although I see no signs anyone in government is doing that. Too much of what is being done is being done to virtue-signal the media rather than protect the high-risk people.

THAT is what I object to! We should be funneling money and effort into protecting the high risk while the rest of the country gets out and makes the money that makes protecting the high risk possible!

BTW - I know three people with diseases that require them to take immune system suppressing drugs. THEY are also at high risk and people like that deserve our help, rather than spreading the help out like too thin butter to everyone.

A standardized documentation would sure help more people understand.

Also, interesting the death rate while the country is in “Lock Down”........

Accidental deaths are a huge part of the first world. But those are dramatically reduced in “Lock Down” locations. Yet the death rate keeps going up.

I mean homes do have hazards but awfully high death rate for being home all day everyday.

“She was pretty sick but nobody else got sick. “

sick with what? did she get tested for anything?

I know many people with allergies that certain times of year seem to be coughing up a lung or similar.

Lots of reasons the girl could have had sick symptoms. Maybe she has weak immune system in general?
