A conservative friend said something the other day that I can't get off my mind:
"The DC establishment, the media, the 'smart people', would rather the country never end the shut-down and never open again."
He knew he was using hyperbole, but he meant it a hair's breadth from literal.
I've been unsettled and unsure of what I believe regarding the shut-down. But I'm not unsettled about what my friend said. I believe he's right.
I think freepers, conservatives in general, are using risk/reward analysis as the basis for their/our conclusions. But no one else is. This loud mass of voices--including those which spout off statistics and anecdotes and quotes from experts--has to be considered in light of the fact that these are people who hope the shutdown "never" ends. These are people who don't care about risk/reward analysis.
I'm still not sure how I feel about the whole thing, but every time I try to come to a conclusion, this guy's words enter my head and make it harder and harder to even think it through.

if a non vaccine works better and safer than a globalist tracking vaccine that takes 18 months to make
they cant keep everyone locked up and they cant keep people from working and not going bankrupt and then dependent on big govt
and all the leaches are getting their SS and SSI and SSDI and their food stamps and walaa...stimulus checks...
small businesses getting killed....private sector industry getting killed....
rats and the fearpers don't care...
and we all know the same thing will happen at the fed level...
please end this phony crisis...we have NOT saved one person....NOT one IMO....we couldn't keep it out of the nursing homes no matter what we did....
Cuomo was actually sending Wuhan flu patients INTO nursing homes. He was forcing them to take the patients.
He as good as murdered those who died in them.
especially after the 1st cases in the Washington Nursing home.

Sweden didn't quarantine its population and has 244 deaths per million compared to Denmark with 76 deaths per million, Norway with 38 deaths per million, and Finland with 37 deaths per million. I'd say that's quite a few lives saved.
