Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said this week that the country is “not ready” for sports to make a return amid the coronavirus pandemic and indicated that leagues should be ready to “go without this sport for this season.”
In an interview with The New York Times published on Monday, Fauci, who is one of top experts leading the White House’s coronavirus task force, said “safety, for the players and for the fans, trumps everything” when it comes to the question of when sporting events will be able to resume in the country.
“If you can’t guarantee safety, then, unfortunately, you’re going to have to bite the bullet and say, ‘We may have to go without this sport for this season,’ ” he continued.

I agree! Why doesn’t Trump get rid of this guy and move on to recovery! Very disappointed in Trump’s overreaction to their phony models and dragging his feet on recovery. His job isn’t to prevent deaths from the virus, but to ensure the virus would not overwhelm our health care system. Now, he is being held hostage by testing requirements and infection rates.
