Yes, things have taken a significant turn for the better! I snapped this yesterday at 5 PM in the Los Altos, California Safeway (San Francisco Bay Area). There was no crowd lunging for it. No wild-eyed berserkers trying to steal it away from you or take it from your basket. No knocking over little old ladies to grab it. Nope, it was just sitting there, unloved and lonely, just begging for somebody to take it home.

I went back to check on it a few minutes later and the poor thing was still there all by himself.
Maybe the crowds were over cleaning out the meat coolers, but I didn't hear any commotion from that direction.
Have we turned a major corner here?

The toilet roll shortages were caused by Govt. & State employees working from home who had never needed to purchase it before...they had always stolen it from the office...

It was probably left behind because it is the extreme economy version (”may contain splinters”)

I noticed my local supermarket has had toilet paper in stock for two weeks now. Shelves are jammed with it. But they still have limit of 1 package.
I think by summer, it will be half price and on pallets at the check-outs begging for shoppers to take as much as they want.

I was suspicious. Figured I was on Candid Camera.
Then I found they were running a special on “One-Quarter Ply”! It’s 1/4 the thickness of single ply. Yet they still ran out.

Apparently, you didn’t see the “used” sticker on it.

I scored 2 packages today in 2 different stores. They both had a decent supply. Chicken was cleaned out.

Yeah, but “Only Used Once” so it wasn’t all that bad.

I can’t find paper towels, though...anywhere.

If you increase your screen magnification you will see the label that says "This is a used item, returned to the store by the customer who used it.".

At least Home Depot slaps an “RTV” sticker on their returns (Return to Vendor).

Fortunately I'm a dark meat kind of guy. Got plenty of drumsticks and thighs. Not too big on breast meat. Too dry and tasteless for me.
Nothing like some nice greasy dark meat!

Dollar Tree seems to have plenty of paper products.
