I’m told that there is a Denver ordinance requiring that concealed weapons be concealed. If the outline of your weapon can be made out you are in violation.

I wonder what led up to that?

Nothing in the video explains why he’s being arrested. The way the other folks are acting and talking, I’m surprised more of them aren’t getting the same treatment. Big dude doing most of the talking is probably next.

Cannot say if the first arrest is justified, but threatening the police is not a good way to represent the rest of us. Colorado, and Denver in particular, are getting more and more anti-2nd Amendment.

It looked like it was very near to the Denver City and County Building or the State Capital Building as each are separated by small parks on either side of Broadway or Lincoln. The vidio did not show what led up to the arrest.

Open carry is legal here. Denver overrules the state? I know they think they do.

Open carry is legal in colorado but each municipality has its own rules. It can literally be legal in one side of the street and not the other. If you do not know the rules VERY well it is best not to

I can walk in a bank here wearing a mask and open carrying and no one gets excited. But I go into the local gas and water office to pay my water bill and officer on duty in the office gets excited when he sees my empty holster and want to know if I have a knife. It appears LEOs getting a little jumpy.

Ok now I see that the arrest was on the west side of the State Capital on or near the sidewalk. The other arrest was of a person who had an outstanding warrant. For those of us who have a clue...do not bring a gun to the State Capital in Denver...or you could be arrested...Sometimes the US Constitution is not as simple to understand as a person would prefer. And a warrant for arrest means to keep your head down...and don’t make waves.

Yes, they think they do. I have been warned by our local LEOs to be careful in Denver.

"If the outline of your weapon can be made out you are in violation."

Dang! Sure glad no state ever applied that rule to the penis...

Am outstanding warrant for his arrest.

I watched the video. That was seriously unnecessary. He probably would have gone with them peacefully - they didn’t need to “take him down.”

If they “took me down”, I’d get their names, and wait a few years.

Looked at the video twice, and his shirt was tucked in and it looks like something on the hip. If that’s a pistol he was in violation of the city of Denver’s local ordinance against open carry. No city should be able to overide the state.

If you carry concealed in Denver, make sure it’s completely concealed, including any bulges.

It’s been that way for quite a while.

I went to a 2A protest day at the Oregon State Capital last year. Lots of State Troopers were around. I wanted to take a picture from the Capital steps of the crowd and asked a trooper if it was OK. “sure no problem” he said. After I took my pictures and thanked him. I said “sorry you gotta be here instead of doing better things”. He laughed and said “This is the the safest place to be in the entire state today. I know most you guys are packing”. I laughed and said “I ain’t saying anything”.
