The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).

You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper, but I recommend that you do NOT look at the letter counter.
One last request. Feel free to post a fun or clever clue, the more tangential to the quotation the better, but please don’t put the actual words of the quote in the clue.

Pretty easy once you solve for Y and Z
About 2 and 1/2 min. Got 1st, 7th, and 10th words. The rest became fill in the blanks.

Okay, that was cute. Took a few minutes. The double letters helped. I didn’t notice the obvious word until I was well into it.
Thanks, that did the trick. I spent about a half hour on this one, hitting one dead end after another. After a few re-sets (using Hal's) I finally succumbed to reading these 'hints', and yours did the trick. It all fell into place after solving for Y and Z.
I have never heard of the person quoted. I started with the word after the comma.
