I made a mortgage payment for my favorite waitress at the local diner.
She saved her tips for 27 years. Paid her bills with her tips and then, last year, bought her first house. With her tips.
The rest went to my church.
It’s paying for some dental work. It’s almost exactly the amount that my insurance isn’t covering.
Saving most of it for a rainy day.
Nothing yet.
My check is still waiting to be signed by President Trump. [/sarc]
I plan to save about half of it for a new set of tires that one of my cars will need soon. I don’t know about the rest.
Donated half to a local religious order that works with the homeless and the rest to food pantries.
One of my sons is a salesman at a Ford dealership and they are getting lots of people buying new cars with the stimulus check as down payment... Internet sales are doing well...
Tipping 50% on food when we decide to do takeout. I want to support the local independent restaurants. They are good people, some I know personally, that are working their tails off to stay afloat.
Good on you for helping your fav waitress. Restaurant people are especially hurting now.
Haven’t got anything but when I do I owe $2019 in taxes from last year so add $800 or so and I’m good.
I wonder how many went out and bought Chinese trinkets and flat screens.
Will buy a new Ariens Snowblower.
And more ammunition. :)
Sack of rice and an SKS. I’ll give it to someone in the ville’ and start an insurgency. Classic method. Then set myself up as a king and wait for Martin Sheen to come upriver. /s
More seriously, I don't think I'll be getting the full $1200, and the part I expect to get pretty well matches what I would otherwise owe in April 2021, so I'll send it back as an estimated payment. Part is just to be contrary and do the exact opposite of what the government wants us to do and part because it is relatively painless because it is "found" money rather than something I feel is mine.
And after two or three weeks of going to the IRS website and having them tell me Status Not Available, they finally allowed me to enter my bank account info yesterday so I won't have to wait for a paper check. The past few years I owed money so they didn't have my direct deposit info.
FMCDH(BITS)
Lottery tickets.
I did not get $1200. It was a lot less. I didn’t need it so I sent an extra charitable donation to a local children’s hospital which I regularly support.
I made a list further up, but really one check, assuming we get the $1200 for each of us, is just over what we paid in our Fed and state taxes for 2019.
We havent got our plague check yet
According to the March 2020 edition of
“Tactical fashion” magazines, a fun thing to do with your stimulus check is to
acquire this, and a Hawaiian shirt..LOL
