Weve got a ton of new titles on The Roku Channel next month! This months selection includes action-packed movies like Clash of the Titans and I Am Number Four, comedies like Waterboy and House Party 2, and a ton of uplifting films the whole family can enjoy.
Watch the below titles and much more on your Roku devices, the Roku mobile app, or on the web at therokuchannel.com.
Listed therein are some first class, really good movies, tv episodes, and other delights.
Can safely say there will not be one disappointed ROKU user to be found.
The 'Channel Store' can be found here:

Happy Streaming while awaiting release from captivity.
Uplifting movies? What are those? Certainly not from Hollyweird.
Problem is that the channel is a mess to find film over movies and live tv which they do. Prefer the interface on Tubi TV or Netflix. I understand the right hates hollywood but I see films to getaway from politics.

We watch Frndly channel frequently as they have all the Hallmark channels on there. The dvr process for them is great and never have any issues. They also have Weather Channel on there and their price is great. I believe it is like $7 bucks a month.
With our combination of youtubetv and frndly and all the free roku stuff, we essentially have it all. Our local channels are also on youtubetv. We never have any issues viewing either via our wifi on two tv’s and direct ethernet on another tv.
Hail Caesar is one. Coen Bros. back to Raising Arizona quality.
It becomes apparent you have not partaken of the Faith Based channels offered. Correct? There are also Kids and Family based channels, which might be more to your liking.
Agree, most newer movies are found to be to far out for personal taste, but there are some, a few years older, which beg to be watched again and again.
I just started binging the Le Femme Nikita series from the late 90s. I was surprised to find it on Roku for free.
Here’s a tip for anyone searching for a movie (particularly an older movie) on the Roku search feature: type the full name of the film.
Let’s use Captains Courageous (1937 version) as an example.
Enter “captains” and stop, and you’ll see “Captains Courageous (1937)”. Tab over to it and you’ll only see pay/subscription options.
But, type the full name “captains courageous” into the search bar, and you’ll see TWO listings on the right for the 1937 movie. One still has pay versions, but the second lists a bunch of free (ad supported) channels with the movie.
I don’t know where the channels came from, but Roku has a ton of these older movie channels. Some are dedicated to genres, others are dedicated to specific actors (there’s a Charles Coburn channel even).
If you like classic movies, there there’s a ton of content on these channels, but they can be hard to find in the channel search on Roku.
My fave series of all time. On Sunday nights I was in the shower and in bed with the tv on propped up ready to watch on Sunday nights. I have it on DVD and still watch it occasionally when I’m on the boat.
If you dont mind streaming on your iPad or computer try Plutotv. Its free and has tons on channels. Im watching a fishing channel right now.
Agree, they do need a more concise formula in finding films, genre, etc.
Channels are found by going through each section at the ‘store’ and each channel to find what movies might be available. “Easter Egg Hunting”
Partial to mystery and SciFi here, with little interest in grind house, slasher movies.
Not that we’ll see this anytime soon, but do wish they would do the same with the now defunct “MONK” series. Absolutely loved that zingy detective show. Another is “FRAISER” (now being run on Cozy TV).
We’ve had a ROKU for years and years. We only use three or four channels. Your post gave me a sufficient kick in the butt to do some exploring.
I will not pay an additional subscription, but I ought to be looking around for more free stuff.
Thanks!
I guess I’m behind on technology, but why would I need ROKU to stream movies when I can just watch them on the computer or connect the computer to my TV?
Suggest you turn your interests toward the cowboy and western stage. From films to retro tv series/episodes, ROKU has an uncountable number to view. (perhaps not uncountable, but rather a Whopping big number!)
Tried. To
Watch. A. Movie. Even. Shut off. Adblocker. But. When. Playing. The. Movie. Every. 10. Seconds. It. Would. Stop. And. Start. So. Thanks. But. No.
We also have a smart tv, which is grand as the area in which we live has poor tv reception with two ‘small’ local channels. The tv is Samsung which includes TV+
The + includes a good many stations, some of which are on the PLUTO network. Don’t know how it works, but happy it does!
Smart TV gives the opportunity of watching in comfort; we really enjoy it.
