So if a person tests positive for the virus that causes COVID-19, that would count as a case. But what counts as a COVID-19 death?
During Gov. JB Pritzker's health briefing on Sunday, Dr. Ngozi Ezike, the Illinois Department of Public Health director, said anyone who had COVID-19 at the time of death, even if the person died of other causes, is counted among the COVID deaths.
In fact, even if a person is in hospice for other reasons but has COVID, too, that death is still counted among the COVID deaths, Ezike said.

If you have a heart attack and you die, you died from heart attack, irrespective of if some signs of coronavirus were found or not.
If you are shot and died, you died from gun shot wounds irrespective of any coronavirus anti bodies.

I wouldn’t be surprised if quite a few of the massive numbers of “coronavirus deaths” in New York are still happily drinking whisky and rye and singing “This will be the day that I die”.
The test is, what made your condition so serious that it put you so close to death that you had to go to the hospital. Now, if you go to the hospital for acute appendicitis and a whacked-out nurse strangles you, that's a different story.

I read yesterday somewhere they announced big death numbers and then oops, they included a couple hundred people who had gone home.

They booked Elizabeth Warren’s brother’s death as coronavirus. Trouble is, he’s been in a hospice for terminal cancer for years, long before cironavirus even appeared. You know what a hospice is right? Plus he was 86.

Most “coronavirus deaths” in New York are fake.

My brother-in-law was on hospice care for a cancerous brain tumor. He had respiratory issues about a week before he was suppose to die from the tumor. He was a very early “presumptive coronavirus” death from Snohomish County WA. At that point by CDC guidelines they were not doing any actual testing to confirm whether someone who had breathing difficulties actually had the virus. They still do not in most places.

Same in NM. Had 3 in the county today, all counted as covid. None of the 3 showed as hospitalized, all reported with underlying conditions, all in a nursing home. One in his 80's and 2 in their 90's. In that age group and nursing home setting, and those ages were probably on hospice for the underlying conditions would have all died with absolutely no mention of the virus. The county and state relying on federal cash for every virus patient and corpse drives these numbers to insane levels. Makes you wonder if the Feda demand autopsy virus result proof.
Interestingly, there have been NO reports of the current Flu hospitalizations and deaths that usually are a daily feature so I guess the Flu season ended in January early.
