So if a person tests positive for the virus that causes COVID-19, that would count as a case. But what counts as a COVID-19 death?
During Gov. JB Pritzker's health briefing on Sunday, Dr. Ngozi Ezike, the Illinois Department of Public Health director, said anyone who had COVID-19 at the time of death, even if the person died of other causes, is counted among the COVID deaths.
In fact, even if a person is in hospice for other reasons but has COVID, too, that death is still counted among the COVID deaths, Ezike said.

Who knows, but the day after the press spent their time misquoting Trump from yesterday’s briefing, we now have an all-time high in new cases.
You are right on it. A miracle that no person has died of the regular flu this year although a gargantuan 70,000 were estimated to have died from it last year and their was no lockdown.
This is CDC official policy.
It is not just a couple of corrupt states.
EVERY state is counting this way.
If we counted influenza deaths with this same method, we would have 250,000 flu deaths EVERY year.
If someone gets a massive heart attack, and right before they drop dead they make 1 big cough, that is counted as corona

The fda revised the reporting of covid to a single target earlier this month. There are reasons, reliable, molecular tests do not rely on a single target. Some can say, no matter what strainf of sars is detected, it’s protective to thi k of it a covid pos... whereas a month ago, the same test would be ne.
Gotta get those detah numbers padded, so a vaccine can be forced on everyone.
That would be a good joke, if not for the fact that COVID-19 can lead to cardiac problems. If there are deaths being mis-labeled, we need to get to the bottom of it. However, if coronavirus put you in the hospital and you die, then coronavirus killed you. They count flu deaths the same way.

Don’t forget, we have also had no deaths from heart attacks, cancer, murder, suicide, tuberculosis, HIV, automobile accidents, on-the-job injuries, stroke, lightning strikes, wild animal attacks, pit-bull maulings, falls from tall buildings, brain aneurysms, diabetes, emphysema, etc., etc., etc. It’s all coronavirus, or complications from coronavirus.
I don’t know, but my patients who have died of COVID have died with destroyed lungs and multi organ failure.
