On April 23, Police arrested a Meridian, Idaho mom while she was allowing her kids on a playdate at a local park for violating Coronavirus restrictions. While the kids were playing on a swing set, officers approached the mother who they inevitably handcuffed and walked to a police car. Other parents who congregated in a grassy area flanking the swingset gasped and asked the officers for explanations. Many of them filmed the incident.
Now, Idahoans are taking matters into their own hands and protesting the cops home.

Continuing my thought from above:.....Then the lawyers from both sides head to the bar and celebrate the nice addition to their bank accounts.

?? This is Idaho, not Michigan
They have a revolving door in my state - fired cops get hired by sheriffs, and fired deputies show up the next week as a state or local cop.
Past time.
Or tell the cops to take the flag off their arms.
Just following orders is not a valid defense.
Yes I know. Almost every state has power drunk fools we are up against
I don’t have a problem with it if they would do the same thing for a man. Hell they’d probably shoot the man.
I have a problem with little stasi officers enforcing an idiotic law.
swat is a lie. they don’t raid known gang and drug houses and blow them away. like this was sold to the public.
and things got worse when fedgov militarized them and copshops started hiring ex military with ptsd and still thinking they’re in a foreign hostile country.
If you honestly believe that, you are naive at best.
If they do this to keep us safe, they will do anything.
Don’t think I’m not tempted, because I am. I need out of IL. Badly. It sucks here, and I just can’t do it anymore.
Guess my sarcasm was perfect pitch in my post.
LOL.
Guess being up for 18 hours means my sarcasm radar is busted. Sorry
I need out of IL. Badly.
Yea, us too.

On the one hand, I think this whole Chyna virus hysteria is laughable. On the other hand, we do have laws that must be followed. I watched the video. The police officers who were present acted very professionally and gave this woman multiple opportunities to leave the playground. They were practically begging her to leave. She refused. Sorry, while I sympathize with all freedom loving people who want to reopen our country, I despise people who break the law and then thumb their nose at the cops.
You have no duty to obey unconstitutional laws.
Unfortunately this hasn’t been the original United States of America since 1861.
The not-so-civil war resulted in centralized power and also reinforced the idea that rights can be “suspended” by any politicians by simply declaring an emergency.
And rights lost are terribly difficult to regain.
Yup,

We are All in this,,,
or some damn nonsense.
What ‘law’? It’s an edict from the Governor, but it’s not a law.
It would seem, if this is accurate, that the “just following orders” defense may not count for much.
I know it sounds like a recipe for chaos, but I think the enforcers commanded by our leaders (rulers) need to realize that they have to make choices. Follow orders or do what is right. Actions must have consequences or anarchy will reign.
The need for law and order must not legitimize authoritarianism.
