Anyone else experiencing this ?
I am recipient of SA , SSI , have income too low to be required to file taxes and receive 1099 every year.
So I went to IRS web site for instructions.
Problem was that the IRS gave instructions that you don't need to file for 2019 at all for virus stimulis if you receive SA or SSI or 1099 .
Farther down the same page IRS says if IRS doesn't have your direct deposit bank info , cuz your income is low and you don't or didn't file ,that you DO need to file 2019 , And gives hotlink to freefileableforms site.
I followed the link to freefileableforms. com
on that site it asked for AGI (adjusted gross income ) of 2018. When I entered that amount the file was rejected , and error message said to enter 0. So I did that . The file was accepted. I then got email verifying that my info had been accepted by the IRS.
Then couple days later I went to the IRS Get My Payment site , entered my info and got the message that IRS didn't have my info or didn't match what IRS had.
How is that even possible when the info they have is what I sent them from the freefileableforms site they the IRS sent me too, and from whom I have a confirmation email that the IRS DID accept and DOES have my info ? !!#
Now I read under reasons ,at the IRS Get My Payment site , that my payment may be delayed or might not come at all if I did file a 2019.
What gives ? I followed all the contradictory instructions given me by
only the IRS site and the IRS linked freefilefillableforms site
and now the IRS Get My Payment site tells me my payment will be delayed
or not get a payment at all
All cuz I followed THEIR instructions.
I feel as if I've been deliberately mislead to deprive me of the payment.
Is this just more "Resist we much " , " By any means necessary?" sabatoge by dem or progressive or Marxist moles in the .gov ?
Makes me wonder if IRS has the republican voter roles and is sending payments to only democrats.
Anyone else have this cluster happen to them ?
Put this in Breaking News Sidebar
Somewhere on that page and many times in the news, you should have seen that if you don't get direct deposit but you do file and get a check, you will get a check for this. That freefillableforms site is for people who didn't file for whatever reason, like zero income. It allows them to get the stimulus. If you filed in 2018/19, they'll automatically send you the money in the latest form you received a refund in. If you owned and sent a check, they will send you a check to your address on file. Wherever they would send you mail.
Ping
I never get a refund. I always pay. I have not filed for 2019. I did file for 2018. I also get SS income. I followed the decision tree down and it said I don’t have to do anything, and my stimulus will come in the mail.
is this the site you used?
https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/non-filers-enter-payment-info-here
You are supposed to enter 0 for income if you didn’t file (for those earning less than ~12k single or ~25k couple)
Where’s my free money?
Dammit.
They never let a good crisis go to waste.
Sounds like the IRS is getting more info on citizens, including bank deposit (er, deduction) info.
You get a 1099 but it's less than the $600.00 limit? Anything over $600, you're supposed to claim as income and file.
you’ll either get a check
or you won’t
I get SS and a pension. I have to file taxes each year, but I don’t do them online, and I don’t do direct deposit for my refunds. At first I wasn’t going to give them my direct-deposit info for the stimulus check, but then thought about it, and decided to go to the website and add my info for them. That was about 2 weeks ago. I checked the site two nights ago to see when I could expect my check, and although they couldn’t give me an exact date, they did say that I was eligible for the check, and that it would be direct-deposited in the checking account that I had provided the info for.
My understanding is that if you get SS or Disability by direct deposit then the IRS is working with SS to deposit the money in your bank account. You shouldn’t have to do anything in those cases, and the money is supposed to be on track with SS to deposit by the end of the month.
That's my guess anyway.
“Is this just more “Resist we much “ , “ By any means necessary?” sabatoge by dem or progressive or Marxist moles in the .gov ?”
It’s just routine government blundering incompetence.
In late April, money will be sent to Social Security beneficiaries who did not file tax returns in 2018 or 2019. That includes adult Social Security retirement, survivor and disability insurance beneficiaries who typically have their monthly payments put directly in their bank accounts.
Meanwhile, all adult SSI beneficiaries can expect their payments by early May. The money will be sent in the same way those individuals typically receive their benefits.
I just love it when my “representatives” borrow $7,000 and promise to send me but $1,200 and blow the rest on useless “investments”.
Same situation for me but I keep getting the cannot determine eligibility.
“I am recipient of SA , SSI , have income too low to be required to file taxes and receive 1099 every year. “
bottom line: IRS won’t accept new direct deposit information from you now because they know you’re slated to receive direct deposit via the account used for direct deposit of your SS funds, and their checker won’t work because the checker is based on income tax filings (they even say somewhere that the checker won’t work for SS recipients who’ve not filed for direct deposit income tax refunds) ...
all the articles i’ve read say the IRS says that direct deposit of stim payments for SS recipients will be made during the last two weeks of April, so you should just relax until the end of April ..
I have a relative experiencing the same nonsense. Good luck!
