President Trump needs to pivot his messaging after Newsome gives his press brief tomorrow
Vanity from My Very Angry and Fetid Mind | 4/21/2020 | Vendome

This has gone on long enough.

This was sold as 14 days, then the new pitch became Easter and "maybe" May 1, 2020.

As I drive around the San Francisco Bay Area I see restaurant after restaurant "CLOSED!!!"

I do not see how they come back. That is, I don't see how most of them come back.

It takes so much capital to open a restaurant and then you are guessing how many people will come in that day, what your rush hours are and what will they order.

That kills 30-40% of the restaurants currently closed.

There are new restrictions going into effect whenever California "Opens" restricting many restaurants to 1/3-1/2 seating capacity.

That should kill another 30-40% as their restaurant runs on capacity and without that they cannot sell enough food, coffee, etc to pay the rent.

Guess I'm going to have cook like I did when I lived with my Mom as a child and teenager. I sure as hell don't look forward to it either. As a lifelong batchelor I've become accustomed to inviting other to the only two things I actually make very well: " Top Ramen or Reservations" "Which do you prefer?"

Except for fried chicken at any place that makes it, I only eat high quality foods and the only way that is going to happen is if I cook it on my own from now on.

Because Vendome ain't waiting in some idiotic line for an Angus or Kobe Burger being told he can't enjoy a glass of wine while waiting. Same for BBQ "Whuddya mean I can't have a beer while waiting?"

Apparently they can only sell capped and unopened beer "to go"

Pour it in a to go cup while I wait.

Very few high end restaurants will come back for reasons I explained above. Capital, fewer tables, zero idea who will come in, when and what they will order.

Moroever, people are not going to spend extra loot on that bottle of wine. Because any of those bottles are sitting in my house and I paid 1/2-1/3 what it cost in a restaurant.

Don't normally mind spending the loot on wine in a restaurant because I know the carrying costs and well, it's convenient but, I'm going to be little tighter with my money for a while and well, they aren't open anyway.

So a meal that runs $75-$150 per person enhance by the purchase of alchohol and wine just ain't happening.

Besides, I have a couple of friends who are well respected actual chefs and I will just buy the food, have them cook it and not have to put up with obnoxious people anymore.

Hell, no Martial Art facility will survive as you will not be allowed gather more than 10 people at a time.

I know this because the place where I take Jui-Jitsu is considering chucking it. Yeah, and after that he will still be responsible for the rent and the current owners are only saying he has a 90 day reprive, at the end of which he has to make up those payments - No Relief.

Another owner out of business with no job and his employees on the dole with no hope of job.

We are going Planet of the Apes

I provide Coffee, filtered/RO water, food and kitchen supplies to organizations keeping their people on premise, more productive, happier for a company benefit and single source supplier.

These days keeping employees and the community at large are so very important and taking supplies and services from an organization helps in that mission.

Done the same thing a couple times but, restaurant eating is for socializing and business.

Or in my instance, I just don’t like to cook

I love to cook and although I prefer making my own Keto meals, I've simply decided to eat out as much as I can in the near future just to help out these small restaurants so that when a sense of normalcy returns, these establishments will still be around to frequent.

The testing has become a rat tool and a trap. There will never be enough and it will never end. So now it is being used to keep us under house arrest.

He knows what he is talking about and more should listen to him closely!, it is costing my friend $1 Million a Month just in expenses with NO Employee’s!!, he can afford to stay closed for 3-6 months, He does have a ton of money though and will come back in every location, only because he has a lot of cash in the bank.

Testing is hugely critical in addressing this pandemic. The numbers we have now suck because we do not have wide-spread testing.

We are starting to see more anecdotal information that this virus is far more widespread than we believed initially in that very few people who carry the virus get sick or require hospitalization. In fact, I think they should put a priority on testing the employees at grocery stores, Walmarts, or Costco. These folks have had the most face time with the public in enclosed environments/spaces. If almost all of them test positive for anti-bodies in areas where outbreaks occurred we have a pretty representative number for the public over time.

You and I will both be exposed to this virus given what we know. It will not go away so we have two options - remain isolated or get on with life. Leaving the country shut down until there is a vaccine is not a realistic option although I am sure some would push for it.

There are areas of the country with very little exposure and few cases resulting in death or hospitalization, but what if the numbers are far higher even in those communities?

Testing will give us real data to better understand the virus, the risks, and allocate resources better in the coming months. We understand very little about this virus up to this point and have relied on “worst-case” modeling to set our policy. Those models are primarily built on the real numbers that only testing can provide.

I don’t think those who are vulnerable to this virus will be coming out of isolation anytime soon until we understand the data that only testing will provide.

Testing will change the modeling and “forecast.” That modeling and those forecast have dictated our response.

This knowledge, combined with an effective treatment regime for those who become seriously ill with the virus, will change everything.

Dear Governor;

My son works in Human Resources and has been with a few companies including one that was in the food service industry with franchises all over the country and internationally.

From his stories, California has some of the most extreme employment laws in the world and some of the most lawsuit prone employees in the world. If you really want to see restaurants succeed and small businesses open and prosper, the laws regarding employment need to drastically change.

If you are not sincere, the same oh same oh. Good luck.

Perfect meme. That’s exactly what they did. Blew it up by shutting it down.

This was all an unnecessary media and Dem driven panic.

Its everywhere - in more than just the restaurant industry. Here in sacramento, mile upon mile of closed stripmalls, small businesses that most will not reopen or if they do, wont be able to stay open very long before bankruptcy.

Mewsome and the other 2 governors of Oregon and Washington as well Cuomo of New York are performing Jim Jones level Kool Aid for those willing and willing to participate in their deified command of suicide.
