I'm not a fan, but guys say things like that to signal that they have feelings. It's rarely to be taken literally. The idea that saying it (or even doing it) makes him gay is ridiculous.

If the guy was heterosexual enough to actually have sex with Cher, he has to be heterosexual to an almost unbelieveable degree. Don't know if that's still true now that he is old, fat and ugly, but c'mon, man!
