If interest, see additional services the IRS is not supporting.

Sure glad I mailed my return on 3/10....

no paper?
Good. Then they won’t receive and read the nasty letter I sent them.
As if I’d have such courage :)

And if you really want to break their chops make a minor math error.

File the return as the law allows, by paper. Don’t owe any tax? No problem. If you do, and you pay— can assure you your check will be handled.
NOT going to be forced into the entirely unstable electronic security of e-filing. Period.
Keep a notarized copy with mailing date stamp. And mail it by USPS. Legally binding.

Always file paper.
When I was a kid, you filed taxes with a punch card included with a paper return.
My dad used to get a razor blade and slice an imperceptible slice off the end of the card.

Just wonderful. I tried to efile this year but the IRS wouldn't accept it. Tried every bit of advice around, but no go. Finally gave up and mailed it on Mar 13.
The refund has not arrived yet and the IRS "Where's My Refund" web site cannot find the status of my return. Maybe it will show up someday. :-(

But you are assuming they can read and speak English! You may need to aks more questions.

Dutifully electronically filed my 2019 return on 3/28 for a tax refund, especially in light that my bank account changed since 2018.....was immediately accepted by the IRS but not processed...... so my Covid check was sent to my old account which was closed..... they are now resending it to my old account on 4/29 again.....
I cant update my account info with them on the new system since I filed a return per their website.....
So Im screwed as far as money is concerned....
Geez......

I mailed in my return in January, then in February it got kicked back ... ‘forms could not be read’, resend it.
Or use fax number ... 855 204 5020
That number had been busy at all times of day or night for the last 40 days.

Probably not going to help you. The IRS has been months behind in processing paper, and now its at a complete standstill.

Can't process a paper return, but they cashed my check too.
The same week they got it.
