Just sharing a disturbing anonymous email that was in my inbox this morning. The email tells me to send $2000 in bitcoin to a bitcoin address or they will send camera porn of me (I dont have a camera) to my friends, coworkers, and relatives.
If you get this same scam you can report it at. https://www.bitcoinabuse.com/
I began getting those almost daily the better part of a year ago. A few months ago they suddenly stopped.
Change yahoo password frequently.
There server security is astonishingly bad.
I finally stopped using them.
Move to Protonmail if you want true security and no spam
Ron Jeremy made a career being sort of one.
Ill be sending you pics they sent to me. Ill also send you a new wardrobe as soon as Good Will reopens. :>o)
This has been making the rounds for a couple of years.
This was actually the subject of a plot on the show “Black Mirror”, so it’s been around.
I got this last week. There’s a way to report phishing in hotmail so that’s what I did. Guess they haven’t caught the guy yet.
But then they put a camera in a different room. Best to just act like Emily Post in front of the computer and keep your mouth shut.
Yes, I got one and reported it to law enforcement. Mostly I was concerned because they got *very close* to my email password, which has been dramatically changed. My Tech guy says there are billions of old passwords floating around on the dark web.
Internet email scam is making the rounds.
This is why I get my email from somewhere other than the internet.
I’m pretty sure that those 1983 vhs tapes have been played till unplayable, but it could bring a snicker, that someone might have plucked a photo from that video history. Bitcoin, though? No.
Well it was a miniature horse so it dint hurt me too bad well maybe the firts couple of pumps
“...last week...”
I’m calling BS on that. I’ve been getting them on and off for most of the past year. I just delete them, and ignore them. There is no camera on my computer, and the one on my laptop has had piece of tape on for most of a decade. Besides, I prefer my porn in braille. ;)
So was the password they mentioned actually correct? And maybe that is what made Bitcoin say they’ve one been appearing for a week. None of them that I got had that detail in them. If so, do a clean boot, and virus and malware check your machine, and change ALL your passwords. If not, blow them off.
